Wolf mask, Completed !

well ive had a day on my P1 suit, so tomorrow unless my dreds arrive ( which dont look like they will ) ill be back to this again.

happy days considering im stil on nights, ive managed to have possibly my most productive week with pred stuff :)

Can't wait to see next update! I've been checking this thread several times a day to see if there is anything new  . Can't wait to see how the acid damaged side progresses. Lets just face it.....i can't wait period.

KEITH

Yes keith there is a update i was keeping it to myself just to annoy you

been fiddling with his burnt side of forehead now, had several goes and i think its finally starting to look like its taking shape. also pretty much finished his damaged cheak, then finished off his neck and added a nice big juicy vein. ( one on either side for the hell of it )

anyway, thoughts on overall feel of sculpt and scaring please :D

again sorry for pic quality, skin detail still not that visible ggr, i think ill have to take him out side for finished pics.

Looks prettu good mate, did any of my tips help out at all? Ohhh and is that an Ibanez I sy there? I dusted off my Peavey Wolfgang and Plexi head for a party last night.

Oh and take the vein down abit mate, it's a touch too prominent, subtelty is key for stuff like this.

Yeah thx Mav, ive also tried to listen to everyone whoes offerd help :D i did decide to keep the skin pattern i have as i like it.

it is a Ibanez yes hehe, something i decided to try and teach myself, JUST before i discoverd sculpting, so needless to say i cant play **** yet, but hopefully one day ill be able to take some lessons and try again.

looks good:) I found the burn side to be the hardest part of this sculpt, just remeber to keep the burns looking uneven..

Looking fantastic Lee I like to see a closed mouth version of that mask. I may have to pic one up to wear my sideshow Wolf bio over.

I am noticing a couple things that I wanted to point out to you. When I draw, sometimes I don't notice stuff until someone else points it out to me.

Take these with a grain of salt - if you don't like what I have to say, then throw it out the window and keep going with what YOU like.

The first pic shows the pointy spikes that surround the crown...to me it looks like the ones on the back/top are a bit uneven and they should be extended/lengthened a bit more so that they are the same length as the ones on the side.

The red arch shows that the crown should be the same as the points on the arch...does that make sense?

I'm curious as to how you plan on doing the mandibles? I put some red lines to show kinda where the jawline should be, but thats also based off the Hot Toys kit.

Lee, that thing is really looking shweet! Detail is great.
The only thing I would modify is the neck area----beef it up. Not only because latex shrinks roughly 1" all around, but because the head is looking like top heavy from the side view. The neck ring ought to be separate, for obvious reasons.

Jason, ill have a look at the top ridges again, ( the pics im going from, bust pics, its pretty hard to tell , but id imagine you are right ) mine are lower than the rest as thats how i saw it at the time . may change , may not :D

As for the jawline im undecided, as the mouth is not totally closed, so wire can be added to close it, and this way, as Pete and Chuck pointed out, it will give more room fo movement hopefully,

Carl thx for mentioning the neck  , i had forgot to meassure it, it does need making bigger as its only 19" around.

the neck ring has been started, but i stopped as i want to leave myself enough clay to finish my leg sculpt hehe ( too many projects ggrr )

thanks for pointing this stuff out guys, i think looking at it for too long makes me not see these things. ;)

Jason, on doing some looking im gonna keep the ridges as they are ;)

post Number 64# on http://www.thehunterslair.com/index.php?sh...=5143&st=60 shows his ridges at the top are alittle shorter which makes his head not a constant curve.
also on page 3 of this thred when you see the head sitting on the actors knee, again i get the feeling they are shorter , the bust pics for the head curve shape i went for are also still on page 2 :D

again thanks for pointing this out, hopefully you can spot more stuff

Hey no worries Lee. I know you are striving to make this as accurate as possible. Have at 'er some more and keep going!

Defo gonna need yours and everyones help, with the mandible line/position , im still hoping someone can find a FRONT on shot of WOLF from the film , as handy as hottoys is, id prefer proper reference hehe.

I have been watching this thread with GREAT interest!! I would definatly love a copy of this mask when finished! Will you be taking order when its done? I can't wait to see the next update hope it comes with a mop and bucket for all the drool lol

hey, yes i will be doing a limited run of masks, the next update may take some time as i now have to rework the neck area, ive also decided i dont like his burnt side of the forehead so im going to cut out certain bits and try again.

next update will be when the neck and forehead are done to my liking.

btw any ideas on neck size? 21inches sound ok?

Well i thought the front of him was done but now i see these pics , i see more stuff that needs amending ggrrrr lol

anyway , virtually there :D , only a few tweaks then onto the mandibles.

hope you like the pics, i roped in mrs surps with a lamp to try and show up the details better. hehe
