Wolf mask, Completed !

Don't attack them mate, just waft the torch flame over the clay to smooth the skin textures out...I'd seriuosly look at getting the Sculpting DVD's that I mentioned on the effects lab they really did help me a great deal even after I'd been sculpting a couple of years. They may cost a bit but they most definietly worth as were Neil Gorton's dvd's. Sound investments mate.

if you dont mind me asking, what are the name(s) of the dvd's u mentioned??

im looking for some good material to help me out in sculpting.

thanks in advance and merry x-mas!

check out all 5 volumes... the armature on is cool but not really needed if you want to sculpt a pred head or the like, it's mainly to get you started making maquettes and the like....They are easy to watch and you get some really good sculpting tips....The neil Gorton one's I wouldn't recommend if you're just starting out as they deal with prosthetic design and molding and are aimed those with some basic foundation in sculpting...but if you're interested check out his website, just google MilleniumFX...I believe BITY mold supplies deal with Neils DVD's in the states.

and A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO!! :p

I watched some of John's sample stuff on youtube, and his work is amazing. Definitely a must buy. By the way Lee the sculpt is looking better and better with every pic, keep em coming.

godddddddddddddd!!look so attractive.........LEE!!!! haha you do the gooooooood job again!!

yahooo um waitin 4 your painted mask!!

Mav, didnt get many replies to my thred on the effects lab, which is understandable.

BUT !

one did point me in the way of the TALC process, which i have just tried and it works luvly, admitadly i did the run of texture too lightly so its pretty faint, but im hoping i can get to texture his neck and cheaks up with this process in the next few days.

suddenly im filled with eagerness to crack on again :p

assuming i get a quiet week in work and dont spend all of the week in bed lol :D

I'm keeping a close eye on this thread because I like where you are going with it. Sorry I don't reply all the time, but know this: you are going to create one helluva head!

Dude dont worry about replying lol, i know i tend to ramble :D

i ramble on incase it makes someone either sit up and go

" dude thats wrong " and help me :D

or in the minutest chance someone goes " aaah you know what , i can do that "

ive just redone the good cheak again, and i really like what ive done :p , but work calls so no pics until tomorrow afternoon

Yeah Lee I use talc on the fine pass of texturing as it's like using wet and dry sand paper when sanding and polishing something....It works a charm...see if you can get some IPA from maplins instead of your paint thinners....And don't worry about the lack of replies mate, it's chriggy after all...In fact I'm only on here whilst everyone is watching the last bit of eastenders that was taped

hmmm , now im torn, looking at aaaaaaaall the pics of wolf i can he doesnt have a great heavy texture on the sides of his face as far as i can see.

so ive been torn between trying a heavy texture ( like Petes done ) or my own take on it , i decided id try my own as i didnt want to copy someone elses sculpt.

not sure its worked , and the finer detail is a ass to photograph, ( or my photography sucks lol )

im pretty happy with the neck texture, and thinking i may leave the cheak as it is now. any thoughts on that?

i mean painting adds more depth and detail than texture anyway , doesnt it?

SORRY , yet ANOTHER update. if im becoming annoying with updating say so.

just attacking this while i can, i think the good side is now abou 90% done, fully textured up ( although the photos are not picking up the texture on the outside of the quill holes grrrr , stupid camera skillz )

anyway ill start on his damaged cheak later on today, at this rate im hopeing to have him fnished and a 1st pull intime for the UK cinema release date ( not that ill wear one to it hehe )

AM

assuming the bio will fit hehe.

but im not fussed at present as ive put so much work into this , i dont wanna hide the bugger.

no more work on this until after the new year as i wanna kick on with my suit bits.

i also get the sinking feeling that im gonna be thinking about doing a wolf suit after my P1 , DOH ! which is in turn gonna lead to a P2 suit , NEVEEEEEEEEEEEEEER a scar suit though :)

I'm with Pete - keep this thread alive and update as often as you work on it. Work between your P1 suit and the head...that way you won't get stagnant from just constantly working on one.
