[WIP] TNG Era Specimen Container

Hey everyone,

So as I'm stuck inside for however long now I've decided to try and tackle a project I've been wanting to do for a bit now, a scratch build TNG era specimen jar.
I have a large glass jar of tribbles on my shelf that I'll be adding a cap and a base. I'm basing it roughly off the concept art for Picard's replacement heart.

Never done something like this before, so this will be an adventure. Going to order the styrene and tools this week.

Thanks, just got 96sqr ft of styrene to start working on this.
Only issue I have before starting is figuring out how to get the soft curved edges where the angled edge. Do I try and heat the bend it? Fill and sand it? Not sure.

Today made a faceplate and a friction lock so i can access the inside latter if needed. Kind of wish I had planned it out a little better, looks kind of jank, but it’s on the inside. And was able to mate the two together to slip over the jar.

Spent the afternoon applying the cone section. Ended up with some gaps that I had to fill with bondo, but it keeps tracking, so might remove some of it and try to make a styrene/glue slurry to backfill.

So I used the baking soda to good effect, filled up the large gaps from behind, and then glazed the front again.
Sanded, primed, sanded, filled, primed.

But now the issue I’m having is you can see some stepping around the edges where the internal supports are.
Is there an easy way to deal with this?
