Hello everybody
I decided to take a diversion from the mainstream pattern.. wanted to make a real "all engine space dragster".. so I tried to emphasize the engine detailing both on engines and on the spine.
here are some pics of the top of the hull primered in black.. still working on the underside

hope yo like it :)

cheers

Looks good so far.

I've started a scratch built RBR/Tantive IV inspired custom, and this should provide some ideas for my detailing efforts. Any particular type of kit you're favoring for parts, or just what you have laying around?

Thank you Tan
Frankly ...there is a bit of everything... :lol
Main donor kits are 1/700 ships , a couple of 1/20 F1 and 1/72 armour kits
I found very helpful also HO train kits (that were used in the original version as well)
I havent use very many 1/35 parts as the scale tends to be too large
..let me know if you want a precise list of the kits

I am currently working on the lower hull where I am adding more engine details on the spine and replacing some ship features with other :confused

cheers

Thanks. I probably don't need any specific kit info, but what you said should put me in the ballpark.

quick update

I have done the underside ... this has teken some time since I changed the spine into a trench filled with parts....:cry
also sprayed a thin white coat.. still thinking on final livery:)
Sorry for the quality of the images ...Unfortunately I have landed my camera and I just had my mobile camera available :lol..

Hello everybody ..I am almost done with her.... As I finally found my missing mercury missile I managed to make some steps forward on the spine booster :lol
I added one small turret on the top side and made greebles really dense in the underside trench
also sprayed first gray coat and some white on the engine area..I am doing this with rattlecans as I don't have an airbrush... maybe this Christmas Santa will make me a gift!!:)
Most probably my final livery will have some red or blue markings around on the sides of the central part of the body and on the thrusters bulkheads...
Of course everything will be heavily weathered as a proper space dragster should be
cheers

for the airbrush/compressor, you know that badger currently have a garage sale with some really cheap airbrush/compressor. i bought mine from there, great service and fast delivery!

thank you Locke! great tip! visited the website and found really good prices:love
I found an inconsistency though.. they state they dont provide EU voltage compressor.. but there is the possibility to actually select 220v compresors (which are cheaper btw) :confused.. will ask what to do

cheers

Yeah!, i noticed that. Just send them an email, they were pretty quick to answer when i bough my compressor and airbrush( 2020 and 360) with said"blemish" on them. Never found anything wrong with them and everything works like a dream! Took about a week to deliver through Fedex if i remember correctly.

Awesome job T !

You get great inspiration doing this ship like that !

Cant wait to see it with some blue or red markings/panels ;)

IMHO their website is bit fuzzy.. they state that there should be a specific email address for garage sale issues... but I cannot find it :confused am I getting older and ...myopic??

Thank you J.. I was simply carried away by the notion of building up an "all-engine-space-dragster" :lol
currently working on the blue markings (my final choice) and want also play with weathering a bit..dont know if I'll get to decent result though..
cheers
