It's been "finished" a few times. I'm thinking this should be the last time. The emitter and pommel should be good enough once their done, but I'm planning on fabricating the "ultimate" hardware version of the handwheel/pommel. We'll have to see how that turns out.

Thanks. And no, that's actually a cast resin grenade. Everything else on the saber will be hardware though.

Not much progress. Added brass slotted screws and a DIY calc bubble strip made from a piece of plexi glass and clear rubber bumpers.

That’s actually really useful. I’m in the process of doing a 3D printed ESB Vader hilt and I was wondering how to do the calc strip short of just buying a replica from somewhere, seeing as how it’d be difficult to print something so clear.

Get yourself some 7mm clear round cabochons. They're the right size and they're crystal clear.

That's what I normally use, but I ran out (see the refurbished clamp pictured above). What's there is effectively a place holder.

Thanks. Honestly, they seem to look a bit better in the pics than in person. I've probably thrown away as many failed attempts as I have good ones. It's usually the last bends that hold the circuit board or bubble strip that gets me!

Replaced the clear bumper version with self adhesive "jewels". A little small, but much better.

It's been a long time coming, but I finally got to work on the pommel. Included is a less than successful attempt at an AS endcap.

It's hard to believe I started this thing nearly 15 years ago! All it needs now is new clamp bars and a D-ring.

Just to give you an idea how far along I've come, here's a comparison of an early Obi ANH inspired saber and the current version. While it had some good ideas that served me well, overall, it's kind of crap.
