Thought I'd share with you another among many of my current projects -
My Hardware Luke Skywalker Lightsaber -
At first the emitter was made from fender washers like the grip. However, my grandpa made me one for my Obi-Wan saber years ago so I just borrowed that.
The section below the emitter is a radial bearing.
Most of the top portion is made of hardware parts. The lower section, however...a whole lot of improvising there, I'll tell you I'm still not happy with the outcome.
My Grandpa also machined the pommel. I managed to bang it all up.
I prefer a steel covertec-style belt clip to the d-ring. Wow, this thing is HEAVY. The bottom half is aluminum-covered, but the internals are most steel and cast iron.
Lastly is the grip. It is simply rows and rows of fender washers, ranging from 1-1/4" to 3/4" diameters.
Weathering to come soon...
So what do you think?
