Looks really good. Very encouraging to see that it can be done so well.

Will you be giving us details on materials used and how you went about it? I'm starting on mine, although it's mostly on paper at the moment apart from some experimental foam cut outs in the shape of the body armour frame. Got a long, long way to go.

Re: WIP Dress 2012 Vest

Hahahaha. The badge will def be weathered soon. Working on weathering my helmet atm.

The vest is all custom made by me. That includes the armor plates. I made and designed them. Then got them laser cut out of PVC. So they add some weight. Just the flex is an issue. Shoulders are Igor's. :)

I'll post up the link of where I got the mesh fabric (eBay). Everything else was bought at the local sewing shop. Binding and black material on cut soft foam.

I'm looking at getting some of the buckles cut and engraved (one piece) out of 6mm PVC too. Cheaper then the real ones. Also working on the holster.

I'll keep you updated. :) Cheers for the feed back.

I'm still trying to chase a belt to use... so I can make the belt loops. Has anyone confirmed the belt size?

Nice stuff.

Have just started to get my materials together for my own build.

Funny, I also have that mesh material on my Ebay watchlist as I have to wait for pay day before I part with any cash. January sure is a long month.

I used 3mm laminate floor underlay / foam to experiment with the shapes for the body armour. It might be a bit flimsy, but I have loads left over, so I can double it up.

What did you use to make the collar?

From my own experience of wearing this kind of body armour, I would attach the back piece to the 2 side pieces with an elasticated strap. It'll sit more snugly to your body, and if you stitch one side and velcro the other, it'll be more easily adjustable. I got such a thing today in a local charity shop. It was a ladies elasticated belt, about 4 1/2 inches wide and I paid the princely sum of £1.50.

So tiny update... Attached the other shoulder and started sewing the armour to the under vest. I have a small issue... I think the helmet may sit to low or the neck is too fat... lol. With a t-shirt on it all seems to sit OK.. the minute I put my leather jacket on... helmet rubs.. and a pain to turn my head.. anyways... enjoy.. :)
