This SD has an aluminum frame inside and it will have fiberoptics.
It will be mounted from the side.

The pic above shows how the model is split so it can be opened for access to the lighting.

Tim,you are a master model maker!!! This is absolutely beautiful!! Excellent photos too! I dare not ask how much this cost to build!
 
I love the mounting system, the model can be viewed just as it should be.
Very well executed and thought out! If only I had the room.

It looks fantastic!This is one the best star destroyers I've ever seen.

I will post more pictures of the model in the making on my website soon.

In the meantime, look at this picture. The little black dots you see on the bottom, near the edge of the model, are headless screws that hold the bottom in place.
