Wip :: Budget Predator/snowleopard Mutant Costume

I got my bio finally to its final paint, its pretty much classic P1 paintjob, as that is my fav from all the bios hit screen so far. Maybe I throw my custom touch later to it, but for now I'm going go with this as it is.

Got around to mold the sculpt I made, its not the prettiest mold but I hope I can pull out something that remotely resembles predator :p

I'm happy with the seam line although, small piece of the mold chipped from the lower part of the faceparts mold.

I think I use thin layer of playdoh or similar clay on the seamline when I seal the mold, I will use same stuff to fix the chipped are before pouring latex. That at least will make the mold sealed and keep latex in o_O

Before first pull, I have to reinforce the mold, I run out of plaster when I molded this, its pretty solid but edges need more plaster so mold survive more pulls.

Edit : I didnt make keys, upper part of the molds parting line has edges so those will lock upper part and I hope to secure lower part with playdoh seam between mold pieces and using couple bicycle bungee cords around lower mold.

you dont need to seal the seam with playdough. after you brush in your beauty coats in both halfs, put em together and then brush a thick layer into the seam. let that cure and then you can pour in your latex. i do this and i never have a leak. because my seam lines are some of the worst. if you have a huge gap in the seam where the mold cracked out, you can use a piece of cured latex to plug it up. i had to do that in a mold that was missing a big triangular piece, before i finally fixed the hole.

EDIT:
although, playdough in the seam might not be a bad idea. you might have to barely trim the seam if you get the playdough in there good.
if you do this, let us know how it goes.
