Will We See Welling in the Costume: Yes or NO

Loved the finale except one thing... They still found a way to have Welling not actually wear the entire suit. I felt VERY cheated. Only CG Superman from a distance and the last scene with the shirt reveal... Man, after 10 years, I was looking foward to actually seeing him fully suited up. Althought I did have a smile ear to ear with the Williams music at the end. Farewell Smallville, you will be missed.

X2

I thought part I was a bit lame. Part II made up for it - other than never actually showing him in the suit. Hell, even the shot at the very end looked CGI to me. I called that shot last summer, too :)

If you wanted to do something for the loyal fans, show him in the actual suit. Why not go out on a bang and give him the suit at the tail end of Part I and make it and his 'coming out' an integral part of defeating darkseid?

Really liked the working in of Jonathon, too. Jor-El calling him Clark was nice as well.

I'm also glad they brought in Jimmy Olson, the real one this time! Man I am so going to miss this show... I need a constant Superman Fix

Indeed, epic ending to a great show. Sure some episodes over the years were not polished. But this series ending fixed everything, closed gaps. Lex is finally Lex.....the whole john Williams playing the the classic superman off to save the world made it perfect. Sure some cgi was mixed but I'm happy, 10 seasons and I can really say wow.

Well I guess the answer was no. After all that, we never get to see a shot of Clark in the costume that isnt blurry or from a mile away.

So all it took to kill Darksied was an arrow?

And Clark punching Darksied/Lionel with his fists doesn't work, but punching him with his head while flying does?

Where was Connor Kent?

I think the power to kill Darksied came from his confidence in himself. DS had absolutely no control over him and clark's 'pureness of spirit' or whatever was essentially DS's kryptonite so to speak.

Do me a favor, read your post outloud.

Clark defeated Darksied with the power of positive thinking? I hope that sentiment seems as lame to you as it does to me while I type it.
Why did Oliver have to use an arrow? He could have just had confidance or sang a song or something.

Then again, Oliver has never been the brightest bulb. Hell, he lets his 5 year old son keep projectile weapons in his room and puts him to bed at what looks to be 5 in the afternoon.

The episode in the beginning of the season where it took Supergirl to get between clark and DS to save clark brought up that issue. Deep down, Clark didn't believe he could handle DS. Clark was going to be corrupted by DS but she stepped in at the last second to save him. She could fight the fight because she was confident and pure (or whatever they called it). They said you had to be pure of spirit or something to that effect and have no doubts or DS would control/defeat you. At that point, Clark didn't fit the bill.

They even portrayed that with Oliver during the season. He lost faith in himself and what he was doing and was corrupted by DS. Clark got him back on the right path and he took out three people controlled by DS. DS himself inhabitted Lionel in the end and Clark killed him.

Does it sound a bit odd? Yeah, but I didn't write the scripts :)

Ugh... such a disappointment. Never saw him in the full suit... not once. And Lex has forgotten everything about Clark since he was a little kid but remembered his education and everything else? Huh? That was a mighty selective "neurotoxin." Darkseid dies with a flying punch. And Clark moves a frakking planet without breaking a sweat now? And "fans" griped about the short fight with Doomsday a few seasons back? Yeesh... that was handled better IMHO. At least we got to SEE Doomsday.

Disappointing doesn't begin to cover it for me.

This entire last season Sucked big time. Including this last craptastic episode. I know they jumped the shark a while ago. But they just sent Quint, Brody and Hooper to C4 the sucker, :) All the build up of the Dooms day planet, and It takes all of 10 seconds to push it into space. The only good part was the music at the end, and the S symbol reveal. The rest Su Su Su Sucked, :cry

I thought it was great - Loved the ending. Sad to see the show go but seeing the ending made me smile. Great to see him as Superman after 10 years.(y)thumbsup

They really had too much stuff going on, and too many characters that needed to be in the finale to have it be just two hours. That is why they needed all the little plot points (neurotoxin, Darkseid, Apokolips, etc) wrapped up quickly... not enough time to do them all justice.

I loved the ending, but feel cheated at the same time. Not seeing Clark in the real suit was a bit of a letdown, but when I heard the theme music, they had me.

I honestly think they could carry on with a Superman series with the way the show ended. Jimmy, Perry, Lois and Clark... sign me up!

I don't watch the program (other than season 1 or 2), but I watched last night.

I enjoyed it for the most part. Yes, I did find it quite long and drawn out... there was too much 'will he or won't he?' rather than get to the point. I guess, it was supposed to be character development.

But, when the Williams theme showed up and a costume was donned - there were chills. Sadly, they used that terrible costume; seriously that costume just didn't work at all on TV, and it's a (minor) tragedy that they didn't allow him a proper costume that worked to his attributes.

Wellings could've been a great Clark/Supes. It's shame they didn't give him a chance for the film.

Well they didn't really show the costume enough to judge if it was good for tv..all you saw was a tiny CG superman and the top of the costume.
