Hell, add flat out murder to the list for someone and the difference is the same.
Those guys all disgraced themselves, yes. However, none of them did it in front of a billion people, live, during the Academy's sole, and the industry's biggest event of the year. There is a difference.
If you get a DUI saturday night after being out with friends, you're not going to lose your job over it. However, if you get a DUI while on the clock and your way back from lunch - you're fired.
I do on occasion for actors/singers or others who I liked in their roles/movies that moved meLook no further for evidence of the strange idolization of celebrity than by doing a search for all of the”RIP” threads, right here on the RPF, where members go on at length about their heartache regarding the loss of a person who never even knew that they existed and who they essentially watched through a one-way mirrored window and never interacted with.
It’s pretty bizarre to listen to people eulogize celebrities that they never even knew while at the same time hardly paying any attention to the passing of non-celebrities in their own communities, or where they work, etc.
Yes no doubt, LOL.If anything this should be considered a crime of fashion.
Thanks, I'll be here all week....
Tony Fauci is so tough he made Chuck Norris wear TWO masks!
Nobody makes Chuck do anything, especially that little yahoo ! ; )Tony Fauci is so tough he made Chuck Norris wear TWO masks!
You mean a eulogy isn't really for the person in the box to hear? Go figure!Commenting on a celebrity's passing or behaviour is not actually about the celebrity......it's more about our connection to that person.....like most things in life it's about ourselves and how we define behaviour or remembering something that brings joy or distaste.
A famous actor dies and we feel loss because of the connection, not per say the person themselves....the connection has died.
When a famous person does something dumb, it's the feeling of disappointment, they let us down or betrayed our trust on some level....the connection is spoiled.
Humans be crazy......![]()
