Wilco models

:rolleyes
(not pointing finger at anyone in particular...)
Some people read others expirience with bad dealers (recasters, shoddy work, delivery issues, etc.) and decide that the price is too good so they deal with them anyway, despite our warnings. Then they have the nerve to come here and complain about their experience.
Suck it up.

Yea, funny how that turns out huh? :confused

Actually if you're talking about me with this:

I have to say that I only read GOOD things about Wilco here on the RPF, which is why I felt safe ordering from the guy.

But it seems that once someone posts something negative about someone, then suddenly all the people who have complaints come out about it. Compare the early posts on this thread to the posts after my complaint.

For now I'm just going to add your unpleasant command to "suck it up" to the icky experiences I've had since joining this discussion forum.

I really don't think Funky was aiming that at you. Actually I went against mixed warnings too and ordered. it took a bit and more than a few emails but Wilco finally got me the package.

I LOVE WILCO! Yes, they take forever to ship your stuff, but I love ever kit I have got from them. I know for a fact that I got WAY better stuff from them, and often faster, then most of the stuff I have bout in the "junkyeard". That's not to say there aren't good products here, but I have got a ton, that didn't live up to the hipe, at all. Wilco's stuff has had less cleanup then most of the kit's I have got here, and I love that they are done in black resin, insted of that white junk most around here use. (If my paint job gets scratched, I would much rather Black, or dark gray to show through, then WHITE!) Plus I like the smell of there resin, wall sanding it, much better then that awful white junk.

I have bot a lot from them, and I plan on buying a lot more.

Does anyone know were they went though. I haven't seen any of there stuff on ebay, for months, and I have a few things I would still like to buy from them.

I spoke to Bill a couple of months ago, and he told me he was never going to sell on eBay again.

I ordered something from him, but gave up after a month of waiting. He did refund me the money immediately though.

Am of course not going to go into any detail, but he is currently going through something that makes selling kits very secondary.

Thanks for the info.

I'm sorry to here he is going through a tuff time...... Um.... but every time I have talked to him (through ebay) over the last 4 or 5 years, he tells me a different sad story. I get my stuff, in the end, so I don't mind it, but I have to say, he is eather a ....um.... "story teller" or he has the worst luck in the world. I'm Ever time I've talked to him, he has either just had a death in the family, or has been hurt in some awful accident, or something like that. Not to make fun, but at this point, if his stories are true, he just may have lost every member of his family, and broken ever bone in his body. But aside from the storys, I love his work, and he seems like a nice guy, so I hope, if something bad really is going on in his life, it clears up soon for him.

I hate selling on ebay these days myself. (awful fees, and really dumb buyers, and that don't read anything at all) So I can't blame him for not wanting to sell there any more. I just hope He will find an outlit for his stuff. There are a lot of things I would like to get off of him, at some point.

I can't blame him for not wanting to sell on ebay and after i got the kit it wa great even if my friend hasn't built in yet. I would like to get another eventually from him if he ever gets back on his feet.

I've had a similar experinece with stories. But have loved the stuff I've gottne from him.

I would like to get one of his Blabe Runner guns though. He does have a great range of items.

Actually that BR gun is what i got. He didn't give me much of a story other than the first got lost in th email which isn't out of the question or he forgot to send it.

He was, but I forget his screne name. If I recall he was a friend of Wakel, and got a lot of Wakals molds when he started to cut back on offering kits. I found that out years ago, when I asked Wakal about one of his kits, and he told me that Wilco has them now, and he gave me wilcos screen name, but that was years ago, and I do not recall it. All I know, is that is't something other then "wilco". (If I recall correctly anyways.)

I think i had it on here too but heck if i can remember it, it's been about a year since i ordered.

I think it was called Dreadnaught Industries and the guy's name was Bill if I rember right. I used to buy loads of kits from Wakal and him years ago but it's all a little fuzzy now.

I hope you're not picky...or in a hurry :lol

..... and are in the mood for what are apparently stories.

If what he told me is a story, then man, this guy spins a mean one.

Unlike others, however, stories or not, my patience had reached its limit. Just glad he was quick at refunding when I asked for it.

For me if he's gotten that slow it's not worth waiting for another bladerunner gun, i'll just keep an eye out for one.

Wow, I bought an x-wing helmet WAAAAY back in 2006 or so now from them. It took forever, its grossly oversized (because its cast over the top of either a real helmet or someone elses, versus being a proper sized sculpt...)

I too got a story about issues with health etc. This guy must have the worst luck in the world lol I realize stuff comes up, but constantly through the course of years would be tragic :(

Oh well, I've not really heard of people not getting things, just that it takes a long time and may have questionable origins. Hope it works out for you guys.
