Who is this "Sidkit" and why don't I own his Mal Reynolds pistol?

Somewhere, in all the QMx postage, someone mentioned that Sidkit makes a metal Mal Reynolds Firefly pistol with a working trigger.

So, who is this Sidkit fella? I know the name from some talk of his BR blaster, but that's about it. What's the quality on his stuff like? Is he 'OK' to do business with?

More info very welcome!

LOL... I could have done that... man... sometimes I just don't think. :lol

Yup... as said in the other thread: definitely interested in hearing more.

Are we talking about a Firefly or Serenity version of the gun? There were a limited number of all metal replicas made of the Firefly gun (one was on ebay recently). I am curious to hear about the details of this Sidkit offering, and who he is.

It's a Firefly version. Dude's got a website that I shan't link to until I find out if he's someone who deserves to be linked to here, though an appropriately motivated party could locate his website with a quick search.

Sidkit is located in Italy. I was totaly shocked to see the Metal Mal Pistol Kit on his homepage last weekend :eek Looking forward to order one from him in the next days. I ordered from him once and everything went really well: Good communication, fair shipping rates, quick shipping. There have been a few threads on the RPF from guys who bought his BR Kit.

You can find pics and an online tutorial here: www.sidkit.com

I ordered one of the metal Firefly Mal pistols and it is in my hands in about ten days.
From Italy.
A very nice piece with a working trigger and removeable magazine.
The grips are brown plastic but the Phillipes wooden grips will fit once sanded and fitted.
I am thoroughly pleased in every regard.

Mike, can you go into some detail about the kit? Does it seem like it'll have a nice heft to it when assembled? Is the metal soft? I've seen some items like this before and it's felt like the first warm day that came along would see a lot of warpage from the heat or even a small about of pressure. Like, if it falls (for whatever reason), amd I going to have a warped barrel for the rest of my life?

Does anyone have pics of the previous brass version that was available?

pennausamike: Are you able to post pics of the actual kit you received?

Real wood grips, brass body pieces (made the same way as the real hero guns), faux bullets in the magazine, wooden display box etc.

You get what you pay for.

Sidkit has also been accused of recasting Coyle BR parts. Although I don't recall any definitive evidence to suport such a claim.

An absolutely BEAUTIFUL piece. If you can afford the $1600 price tag. Don't get me wrong, it's worth every gorramn penny I'm sure, but it's unfortunately out of my range for a shelf decoration/occasional twirlie toy. Major props to those that have them and can afford them though.
