Who introduced you to science fiction?

My Pop. We used to watch reruns of Star Trek together during the 70s. I'll never forget those times or the salt monster, from episode, "The Man Trap". That goofy faced rubber monster scared the hell out of me.

Barry.

I believe that it all started with me with Space Ghost and Dino Boy from 1966.

So technically Hanna-Barbera.

My Dad. We watched Star Trek and Twilight Zone....he took us to Silent Running, Logan's Run, Star Wars, Close Encounters, and so forth.

He gave me my first Arthur C Clarke book, and he bought me the 2001 soundtrack.

Oddly enough he was a jock who barely missed out on the Olympics, and he raised two jocks.... with highly developed nerd tendencies.

ABC, CBS, NBC. I grew up on 60's television. I soon discovered the library and I was off to the moon.....at least in my mind.

You're not alone there- I used to watch reruns in the 70s as a little kid, and the Salt Creature used to scare the daylights out of me too! :eek

I would have to say that it was my Dad. As a kid he would read books to me like HG Wells the Time Machine, War of the Worlds, and Allan Quatermain books.

The movie "Green Slime" being broadcast during the Easter holiday back in the very early '70's on my local tv station got me hooked at first. And directly alongside it was my weekly dose of Star Trek and my Superboy and the Legion of Super Heroes comics w/ Mike Grell art. Then when Space: 1999 and Logan's Run came out I was completely blown away and to this day S:1999 and LR are still my favourite TV show and movie. My parents had a tumultuous relationship and they were great coping mechanisms for me to escape into.

Earliest memories: watching U.F.O. on TV with my dad.
Also watching George Reeves as Superman on TV.

I would say it was my sister in-law. She was watching reruns of Star Trek TOS, which I found interesting. So, I would start watching them with her, whenever I visited. And after that, it was Kolchak: The Night Stalker and so on. Totally hooked from there.
