I'm doing test casts on a few moulds I acquired to see what condition they're in and also see where the problematic areas are. I can id most of the stuff but I have no idea what this is........

Please excuse the bad pics, I took them at 5:30 this morning and hadn't had enough coffee at that stage :unsure

It looks, to me, that it would be something from the 60s-70s? those knurled knobs on and above the grip remind me of a Trek prop, but I don't think it is.

I'm sure someone here knows what it is, any info would be much appreciated :)

Cheers,

Maybe a fan-made Fett Pre-pro blaster? Grip looks a little long to me (original was a camera 'pistol grip').

Yeah, I agree, a fan-made attempt at this: (found the image at the TDH forums)

DAMN you guys are fast!!!

I had no idea Boba carried a sidearm :redface but that looks like what is, thanks very much for your help, you guys rock!!! :)

He doesn't carry a sidearm, not really. When test shots were taken of the costume before production started, this is the gun he had. At the last minute they decided to go with the rifle, so THIS piece never got any screen time, only in the test shots.

The large 12" figure had that gun too.

That's riiiiiiight. Mic, you must be as old as me to remember that. :lol

And the 12" figure had the yellow gauntlet from the pre-production Fett. Sadly I am also old enough because I still remember getting my 12" Fett when I was 10 or 11.

But Fett did carry a side arm in the movies. In Empire he had one but it was always in the holster.

You are partially correct.
Boba does carry a sidearm in ESB.
It is not the one pictured above, but a Nemrod speargun (modified of course)

It is very visible here;

and the pistol grip here;
