What's the best/cheapest method to ship a large costume?

ive got a costume for sale that isn't biting locally, ive been really trying not to have to open to national offers but if that's what is comes to, the chest, back, abs and shoulders are all one part. when transporting to conventions I can just slip the arms and legs within eachother to save space but even with the helmet I can securely fit everything within TWO 45 gallon storage containers (like a gonk droid) in the back of a truck. provided I just ship everything separately it wouldn't be worth it since the torso is so large anyway, we're talking maybe 3ft x 3ft x 2ft in volume. on top of that UPS is just gonna throw it around their trucks anyway, and its made of cardboard and expanding foam so it could be "repairable" worst case. anyone have experience moving large lightweight items? and what might I be looking at cost-wise?
