What to use for the bottom of feet for gripping?

I made some oversized feet in the past, and need some type of material to lay underneath for gripping like the rubber of a gym shoe. I used in the past some furniture rubber pieces and black foam to quiet the sound of the feet. I just redid the feet, making them lighter weight. So before i slap the same thing back on, just wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas? Thought of taking the strips of car tires, but would be a bit of pain to cut. Theyre like a size 19 btw, so good size area lol :) Any other suggestions?? thanks

I used rubber mats for car interiors - doormats would work just as well, too.

They cancel noise wonderfully and are quite comfy!

in places i have worked they had this hard foam rubber mats, they were very durable, and about 1/2 inch thick.

so of that cut out, and fastened on the bottom would work great, and last a long time.
