What costumes are you working on?

Im putting together a Batman Begins Costume. Already have a Dullham Chestarmor, Ludakris Legs, Knee Pads. A Foam Spine and some Gotham100 Superhero Boots. A Cowl is on its way. Still looking for some Gauntlets now. For the Belt I will start with the Rubies one. Due to other priorities I will upgrade it later. For the Beginning it will do. Next Step is finding a nice black wetsuit which fits my size (Unfortunatly Im not going to be the lightest Batman ^^).

Second Thing is my ANH Stormtrooper Costume. Already have all the Stuff around the Armor, like Boots, Neckseal, Holster, E-11 Blaster, Gloves with Handplates a nice Comm Unit and also the Helmet is already here on Display. Now Im saving for the Armor itself. Going for the RS Props one.

So far for my projects.

Regards Lars

Agreed with ObiWannabe. You make a great Jack Sparrow
Nice costumes you got together!
Is your Jack Sparrow shirt also from costumebase along with your Sweeney costume? I am thinking of getting a Jack Sparrow costume together and kinda need to figure out where to get my items from
And where did you get your vest for Sparrow from? It looks really good. It's from On Stranger Tides yes?

Thank you sir! :D

My shirt was made by Paulipoo's on Ebay, she does an excellent job! My vest is one of the first ACME vests. Overall, it took me like 3 years to put my full costume together, but I bought my pieces very carefully for it, getting nothing but the best....And I did so at a fraction of the cost most Sparrows spend, as most of my items were purchased second hand! :D

im working on a 7ft rx-78-nt gundam alex. pics are on my thread.

Would love to see the Zurg on here. My kids love Toy Story and it would tickle them pink.

Working (with the help of some very cool friends in the Hawaii 501st) on a Vader. Learning lots of things like patience, patience and patience. Did I mention that patience is a weak point for me? Aloha

Done, but not finished:

Forgot to mention when I posted this, but I'm also working on Sweetums, and a Bucky rescue Captain America!

First ever attempt at Boba pep
reworking my Mike the TV from reboot
Hexadecimal (reboot as well) for my wife
Poison Ivy for my wife
Victor Freeze (from the batman animated series)

yeah...way over my head with this being the first attempt at a lot of this stuff but hey..big dreams are how you start right?
:confused

I'm basically trying to make swords, and a whole lot of 'em...

-Robin Hood (BBC series) scimitar
-Sword of Altair, Dagger of Brutus (Assassin's Creed)
-Sword of Martin (Redwall)
-Steel Sword (Skyrim, custom order)

I'd need to check the board for what else I have to do, but that's off the top of my head... Also if I have the time and materials, I'd like to replace the rattail-tang, stainless-steel blade on my UC Strider sword with a full-tang, carbon blade.

Just finished a re-paint of my old Don Post X Wing helmet, so that means I have to make the rest of it now.

The material and parts for my pressure vest are on the table, awaiting my drawing of the pattern and this week I'll pick up the material for a scratch built flightsuit. I also pulled out another old project of a conversion of one of my spare APH 6 helemts into another X Wing helmet.

An older build that's time to re work my old Rocketeer that I made back when the movie first came out. It was put together in a very short time in order to wear it when I was judging at a SciFi Con. There weren't many pictures to go by at that time and my friend who built the helmet while I worked on everything else got the front too flat. That has to be cut out and recurved. It's made from 16 guage steel. The rocket pack was made from 2 empty fire extinguisher bodies and sheet stainless steel, a real pain to cut those thick fire extinguisher bodies and also in need of a re-do.

I also wore it the following summer for an airshow over the 4th of July, very hot. I don't recommend it. :facepalm :lol My friend that was the air museum curator had tried to get someone from Disney to loan or bring the costume to go with the racing GeeBee that was painted in the colors from the end scene of the movie, that was on display. When I happened to mention that I had one hanging in my closet, I got volunteered.:lol

After that, all the museum wokers called me Rocketeer for several years.

Not actually movie or TV related, but recently finished.

An 1810 pattern, generic officers coat.

An 1812 pattern Royal Navy Captain.

A British 17th Lancers uniform, complete with dress boots. I made the helmet many years ago and recently finished a more accurate one based on a recent book that showed a complete tear down of one of these weird looking hats.

The newly done Lance Cap, also called a Czapka or Chapka and many other spellings.

Also sitting by the sewing machine is an 1854, 11th Hussars uniform waiting for me to get the ambition to attach the 14 yards of gold cording and the 20 plus yards of soutache braid that edges the cording and other design parts of the jacket. this is one that I've had on the back burner for years and finally got around to it. there are many other things on the to do list, including a recent helmet I got to base a Space Above and Beyond helmet build upon. Once that's done, of course the rest will follow.

My costuming philosophy is that the first and most difficult things needed are the hat and the shoes, everything else between that falls into place easily.:lol In the over 30 years of going to Cons and doing other costume things, the one part that I always notice is that a lot of people forget to pay attention to the shoes, a very important detail that will make or break a good costume. I'll now step off my soapbox.:)
