What costumes are you working on?

Thought I'd update from my last post:

Here's my new 5th doctor with new improved coat, trousers, & shoes From Time Quest last March.

Here's the current WIP on the Tom Tyler Captain Marvel Project. After a lot of searching I found the ideal materials to make this costume look retro 40's. Red Wool gaberdine for the tunic. Dyed red-to-match stretch cotton for the tights. Mustard yellow leather for the boots. Metallic weaved trim for the florets. Gold lame for the sash/ bolt/cuffs/cape trim. Cream Fialle rayon/cotton for the cape and piping. Fiberous gold cord for the cape / spiral gold buttons for the cape.

My budget didn't stretch for a Captain Marvel Jr but it did accomodate a matching 40's Tyler-esque Mary Marvel for my GF. Here's progress pics there.

Mary Marvel muslin dress and muslin cape. With any luck the final dress in gold lame and red gaberdine should be ready this weekend. The skirt will come up a touch and the sleeves will be brought down in 'puffiness' slightly.

Mary Wig - We aimed for a look between her classic 40's hair flip and her first appearance - trying to imagine what Republic Pictures would do with her hairdo circa 1942. We merged some hairstyles of Judy Garland and Ava Gardner from the period.

Sam from Trick R Treat for my Son.

Im working on getting a new silicone Freddy mask(Englund) for my '84 costume.

Not sure what the wife is doing yet. This is the first year that I dont have a half dozen projects going on. Money is the big reason why, but to be honest, it feel kinda good for a change.

Hey all! I'm new to the forums, but was nudged this way by a few friends.

Currently, I'm working on finishing up a bunch of things for Dragon*Con, including:
Lil' Kim's outfit from the music video "Lady Marmalade"
Megara (Disney's Hercules)
Silk Spectre I (movie version)
Bellatrix Lestrange
and a Lady Gaga-esque costume, which requires waaay more craft work than I'm used to.

And a future project that I'm wanting desperately to start now, but will take years to finish: Glinda's bubble dress from the musical "Wicked".

I'm more of a stitcher myself, so seeing the amazing work being put into these armor- and craft-based costumes is incredible. You guys are kind of ridiculously inspiring. :)

working on a custom Iron man MK II Hybrid - using elements from the movie versions and my own twists on some areas (like black where all the gold/silver parts are)

I love that turtle head! :D

imagine that turtle head on the power ranger costume lmao - Raphiel as the White Ranger lmao

After seeing everyone's amazing work I feel a little embarrassed adding my list.

For Dragon Con I'll be sporting:

- Resident Evil: Afterlife, Alice (sooo close to being done I can taste it)
- Community: Modern Warfare, Britta
- Veronica Mars (just cuz)
- Jennifer Government (IF I can find a small inexpensive flak vest that doesn't look ridiculous)
- Caprica Cadets (think Girl Scout)
- Dexter, Rita (my bf does Dexter and last year's Deb didn't play off too well, kept getting mistaken for a real police officer)

Unfortunately, I have very little sewing talent at this point but I'm tackling modding and paint pretty well.

Here is my Alice at present, the bodice was made by Aradani Studios. They did a fantastic job on and now I have to beat it to hell to make it less pretty :)

I'm in the planning stages of a C-3PO
Helping a friend on a R2-D2
Almost finished with an Elvira Mistress of the Dark costume (made the wig, making the dagger, commisioned the ring). Already have the dress, though I'm considering having another made that fits even better and has some additional features.

I'm making two Space:1999 for a Hallowwen party. I'm mostly just finishing up very quickly built versions of the props now.

After our Ghostbusters project, I'll push my two others forward...
The others being my Vietnam US Army grunt, and Boba Fett...
And there is always looming hope for Comic book version Judge Dredd and A full Samurai armour...
Still, I'm happy with our GB... Photo courtesy of Marko Saari. Oh, I am on the right, enjoying our moment in the flashlight..
