What are those knobs for ...

Hello,
my name is Wolfgang from good old germany. Primary interrested in star wars ma further project will be the ST.
Therefore i bought this Michell sweep and get those knobs with it, but got absolurely no plan, what they are good for.
Maybe the hive can help?!?!?

They are used on the Luke V2 lightsaber (x1), the Luke severed hand lightsaber (x2) and everywhere in the set as greeblies

and this is one of the funniest use to me, here on the right, there are several in small transparent boxes, like they are on display:

Ahh ... i see. I have to check if they were also used on the mouth of the ST blaster.
