What are these brackets called?

These brackets would be great to mount a project of mine to the wall, I have tried googling every word I can think of but no luck. I don't mind if they are plastic or steel.

I would consider them to be called wall cleats or french cleats. If you do a Google search for either one, there's nothing EXACTLY like what you have pictured, but it might give you some ideas on how to improvise.

There are also aluminum extrusions that could be made serve the same purpose.

That company also makes plastic ones. Plus you can cut them to make more, smaller ones.
