What’s Everyone Working on During C19 Quarantine?

Nothing to really show for it yet but have a lot of projects in the works.

1.) sitting and waiting for our ROTJ Hero prototype

2.) putting the final touches on our Leia design to dispatch that for prototype

3.) creating machining specs for our ROTJ Hero crystal chamber (also fits the new AS Hero). I also want to see if I can make a shapeways metal version if we sell out of the machined run).

4.) wrapping up a Roman Balance v4 install.

5.) Also I have been trying to develop a more personalized chassis design for my Lukyanov Creepy Uncle (gen2). I wanted a big 21700 in there yet still maintain the entire grenade for a custom hand machined chamber in the grenade. I am currently printing like version 5 of my attempt at this. I also am developing a custom board for the box to handle the switches, leds and place a kill switch if I can (milling of the brass plate required).

here's the main part of the chassis (battery; board and RCP portion):

In between working on thanos, filling and
painting i Found a little glass bulb cover and thought of something I could add to my ever growing list

soooo I went on the internet looked up some deigns and measurements then onto fusion 360 and designed this little fella and resin printed it

I then designed a stand for it with LEDs

I just need to finish the switch

Started working on my neglected mpc snap together B wing.

Basic wash on the parts off the sprue.
I assembled most of it but the hinged wings aren't behaiving so need to figure that out before posting assembled pic.

Figured out the issue with the folding wings.
Pretty simple, I had the hinge piece upside down and the stopper nub was working against the wings.
Primary paint is done.
Might add squadron markings and further weathering but dont want to cram too much in a small scale. Really wish I had an airbrush sometimes...
Still need to figure out a canopy cover too.

Thanks George!
I’ve already got a file and if worse comes to worst I will have it resin printed. However, a lineage skull would be more ideal.

Really getting out of my comfort zone with this one...
Decided I would make a replica of...

FOOD?!

straight from the galaxy's edge cookbook I got for Christmas. My wife swore I would never use it.

First attempt:
Pitmaster's Choice.

Nailed it!

Full meal coming later for dinner.
Do we have a cooking thread here somewhere??
I'm no cook by far, but this makes it fun for me.
*BONUS: just tried and its delicious! Like a sweet teriyaki flavor with a nice blend of chewy and crispy. Would do again!

**Rising Moons! Dinner is served!
Tonight we enjoyed Gruuvan Shaal Kebab accompanied with Spicy Mandalorian Stew.

Delicious!
Chicken kebab is hard to go wrong, but the key here is the marinade!
And the curry stew! I love curry and this one is no disappointment! I never thought to put apples and purple (!?) Potato! Soooooo good!
We did have to modify as we have a gluten allergy, so we did quinoa in place of couscous. Still great!

I pulled a long stalled project out of a box today. 2 years ago, I started building a replica of the classic Trek Zeta Communicator with exposed 1960’s circuits from “Patterns of Force” but then pulled the circuits out and built a regular Zeta replica.

Both the Epsilon and Zeta communicator were used in this famous shot (Epsilon is in Spock’s hands).

I was able to finally obtain an accurate, and rare, kydex back shell with no screw dimples, which is necessary in order to create an accurate Epsilon Communicator, and an accurate Epsilon moire ring. I’ll otherwise be using most of the parts from a Dennis Stines Alpha Communicator Kit as the base.

I’ll be using the salvaged circuit board I originally built for my abandoned Zeta project to finish this one as it appeared in the famous episode.

I finally finished this one, today.

I took a little artistic license and decided to build-up this “exposed innards” comm as an Eta Communicator. I’ll tackle the Epsilon Communicator as a separate build, sans “guts”.

This one was built, like the original Eta, as a communicator with an antenna lid the rotates freely, without a stop.

Ashoka's 332nd Clone trooper Helmet

At the end of season 7 clone wars I had the urge to build the clone trooper helmet, I did contemplate building the helmet from scratch which is something I might do after this one. The file I used was from thingiverse.

clone-wars-saved-high-res-helmet-wallpaper.jpg

I figured I better use the anycubic Chiron printer for what I brought it for, making 3d printed Star wars stuff. I figure a Helmet is a good start. My main goal is to make a shore trooper kit to troop in.

helmet1.jpg

I have a few pieces still printing but I can start sticking the files together and sanding to get that smooth finish.

So next step more sanding.

My PCB's have been manufactured and are being assembled now. not long till they will be posted out.

I've decided to finally figure out airbrushing. Dug out the Badger I've had in a drawer for about 30 years and bought a compressor. Can't get the Badger to work at all yet but at least the compressor came with two cheapie brushes to play with. I have a pile of Bandai kits to do but I'm playing with a Revell Poe Dameron x-wing as my test run and experimental job.

Wow I would love to have an airbrush and 3D printer someday. Just not sure I have the room even if I came up with the dough.

No cooking tonight but did more weathering and squadron markings on the B wing.
Its my take on a gold squad fighter thats been around a while, maybe a few years after the battle of endor. Really was just a toss up between yellow green or blue.
Most of all its a blank canvas to test my skills to see if I "still got it". Might order some new kits seeing as I rather enjoy it. I have Bandai 3po and R2 sitting around as well.

Sadly, just ideas in my head at the moment.
I haven't quite convinced myself that a trip to the hardware stores out weights the risk of bringing home something other then nuts and bolt.
