I was able to get the first three guns through a barter. I love them and they are heavy and detailed and meticulously crafted.

I received this same email, and although it's a big piece and has a limited run, they really priced themselves out of the market. I suspect that even with a run of only 50, these will sit for a while. Notwithstanding my rant, the Blunderbuss is stunning. Really wish I could afford it.

Uh . . . Lord Cockswain. REALLY?

The gun is awesome, but the price is REdiculous. Just silly expensive.

It's absolutely awesome, but the price...!

You'd think that for $4500+ they could at least carve you a real wood stock instead of a cast resin one.

I think for $4500, it should actually light up and work!!!

I may just make my own based on their design, with a real wood stock and some electronics!

Man, I knew it was going to be expensive, but... wow... it is a *very* nice piece, tho - Richard Taylor let me play with the prototype at SDCC...

You have to ask yourself ... at what price security? Those gate-crashing MoonMen are a frightful lot! :eek The Blunderbuss might just make a difference.

Actually, I think the price -while frightening- does guarentee some exclusive nature to the piece.

Man, I wish I could obtain the other Grordbort guns via a barter ....

Not quite as easy as it sounds. But in short, I have a friend who sells comics-related goods via the Web (including WETA stuff). I write press releases for him every week, and in return he gives me store credit for whatever I'd like from his site. Sadly, I know he won't be carrying the Blunderbuss.

Maybe a bit too ornate, but I like it and their line & implementation.
The boxes the pistols ship add alot.

Don't own them, just the photos from the website.

For that kind of money, I'd not only make you a ray gun, I'd actually fly to mars and destroy the martians before they came to your door.

Martians are not the problem. Ordinary selections from Dr. Grordbort's Infallible Aether Oscillators such as the Manmelter 3600 ZX or -for you ladies- the Victorious Mongoose will suffice for such pests.

But MoonMen... aye, there's the rub. For MoonMen you will need a weapon that can handle not only African Bull Elephant's or the Ghargunthi Collossopod, but whole herds of them in one fell sweep. Some menaces require the "Unnatural Selector"!

I think that would require one hell of a press release!

I'm of the mind that we should make sure the Earth is safe for Humans exclusively. Aliens, no matter if they come from the moon or Mars, should be dealt with in a very extreme manner. Nothing good has ever come from outer space. Unless you count the sun, but the sun does not abduct you from your bed or car, and stick things in your various orifices all the while mocking your cries for help.

Death to the scourge that is all extra-terrestrial life that walks bipedally, and flies in space ships.

I mostly agree with this statement... but I'd allow sexy female aliens who do not abduct and probe (in the non-enjoyable fashion). :angel

but back on topic, the price for that gun is pretty crazy... I suppose it's justifiable by the size, small edition size, and crazy fanciness, but imo, it's just not worth it.
