Yeah I was just saying to colleagues - I'm looking forward to seeing the film released in the UK, but this prop looks too much like a real gun for me to want a replica. It makes it tricky if I ever wanted to part with the piece over here. That was the cool thing about the D9 replicas, they looked really Alien, in some cases almost insect-like in design.

Still excited about seeing all the props in the movie and I'm sure I'll want to pick up one of the other offerings from Weta Collectibles!

i wish i could afford one these are sweet!
i don't even think the price is too far off considering the size and detail.

but i was a little put off that there's no movable parts, which made me think it didn't have a trigger or a removable clip/magazine that would just make it for me over the top amazing.

Just pre-ordered mine! This is a great price for a cool replica. It would look great repainted in the desert sand color scheme shown in the Art of Elysium book. Or even in the digital camoflage shown for some of the other weapons. Oh damn! Now I may have to buy more than one!:facepalm

After massively regretting selling my D9 Arc Reactor, i was just about to press that magical pre-order button for this one, as i know how incredible Weta's replica guns and rifles can be, and for the price of $399 - WOW!

However, i hadn't for a minute considered that being in the UK, these replicas may not make it to our front doors.

Is anyone thinking of taking a chance?
I do some clay pigeon and air rifle shooting, abiet i do not have a licence yet, do you think if this was delivered to the gun shop it would get there?

Several RPF members in the U.K.had their Blade Runner Blaster kits seized recently by UK Customs while other got through. One member even had the Police show up at his house to check on the rest of his collection as a result! It's a roll of the dice.

If I were you, I would contact the local UK Police and Customs people and give them the information on the WETA website...and ask them what you need to do to get it in to the UK. Sheesh...don't ask us.... get them to post it with some clay pigeons with it...huh:confused

I checked out the pre-order on their website and when you select an European country for the shipping estimate, it states that it ships from the 'UK Warehouse'. In that case I don't think it would be a problem to order within the UK, as it is shipped from a 'local' warehouse, so I would expect no customs problems... ?

Brilliant, you may of saved the day!!

I remember now, that the D9 Arc Generator, did have UK delivery labelling, and there were no customs stickers etc etc, also no risk of having to stump up cash for VAT and custom charges.

Therefore, and as Zorg has verified, i think the risk will be all in Weta's boat here, i'm assuming if we pre-order and Weta are shipping from thier UK warehouse, then there will be no problems with these rifles being distributed within the UK.

I can't order it for delivery in Canada; there is something to do with the replica gun law. I'll have to order through an agent in Canada with permit to import airsoft...
