Are you kidding me? Battery operated water guns were around a lot in the 1980s. I've got the remains of two 1:1 scale 1911 replicas that were originally connected to a container with a battery. I still have a 1:1 scale MP5 battery operated water gun that no longer works, but would be amazing as a replica or a prop.

Umm... dude:

You can't tell people what you're using ahead of time. Time to find a different base gun. (or make sure that at least one other person is using the same thing)

It's definitely all good that was totally my fault. I was thinking of it more along the lines of sharing a good quality base gun and verifying that it was fair game than I was promoting my own gun, but Jack is 100% on the ball. I should have pm'd it. Apologies everybody I'm still new to this.

Edit: So obviously I won't be using this as my base anymore, if you see a gun like this it will be someone else's entry.

This is a cool contest, and shylaah made it so that one one has an advantage which is my favorite part. I would love to be a part of this but school started and my box-o-junk is staying at my house. I cant wait though to see the blasters
 
Welcome to all who have signed up so far. We have nearly 30 entrants and some great prizes! Bring your A game, I think you're gonna need it!!!

This is the last big weekend of summer, so if you've not latched onto a base blaster yet, better hit the stores soon. Pickin's of summer fun items will be slim after the Labor Day holiday I'm sure.

Just an FYI so you'll know I've not abandoned ship should any questions arise, I'll be heading out in a bit for the long weekend and won't be able to reply. Everyone have a fun holiday, stay safe! I'll catch up on Tuesday.

Did some scouting around last night and pretty much every blaster Toys 'R' Us sells in their stores is on sale. Somewhere in the vicinity of 15 different models. Super Soaker Rattlers were $7.98, and they had another larger Super Soaker blaster for $13.98, but neither had triggers. Apparently they are pump only so you'd have to add your own trigger if you wanted one.

I searched and searched, but could only find one water gun!

However on the plus side it was only $1.98 at Toys-R-Us... It has potential.
