Im a massive fan of 2000ad and Strontium Dog so wanted a Westinghouse Variable Cartridge Blaster of my own.

Found a vacuum pulled two part cast (an old Termight Licensed model based on the original comic artwork by Carlos)

I initially filled the cast halves with foam but then decided to take the bulk of it out and fill it with smooth cast 325 so it was heavier and flush level.

I then had to design three barrels for the blaster. Then 3D printed them on an Ultimaker 2.

Then after gluing the two halves together I had to seam fill and sand a lot.....

Then careful taping and initial colors laid down with spray paints. Finer details were brushed with enamel....then final airbrushing lightly with black.

The finished Blaster with my helm I did a while back.....needs redoing.....lol.

Anyway hope you like the Blaster.

Superb paint up of the first licensed Westinghouse model ever made, straight from Carlos Ezquerra's sketches for a planned tv series, back in '89. While I can't wait for Planet Replicas superb looking rendition, this piece, along with the Electronux (also from Termight replicas, sculpted, like this piece, by Jason Wilbourn - and which I own!) is something quite special.

Images are in the thread below...

Hi.

I have a question: Where'd you get the cast from? I couldn't find anything on ebay, and I'm new to replica props, so i don't know where to look for this kind of thing.

There is a 3d print file on Thingiverse

I've printed it, it's 18" long, mine still has filler on and needs sanding then paint when the weather gets better
