Weight progress for cosplay

Not sure if this topic fits here, but here it goes. Wolverine was my first ever cosplay. Started back in 2006, at that time i was wearing size 48 pants and 4xl shirt.

And so because of my size, people tend to criticize and comment about it. I don't blame them though. But because of that, i finally decided to take measures with my own hand. Started working out and eating right. It wasn't til 2010 that i am starting to show results (maybe it's coz of motivation and inspiration that i have from my girlfriend too).

This year alone i have lost more than 10 inch off my belly. And now i am wearing size 37 pants and wearing XL (asia size)/ L (US) size shirts.

Posting this thread in hope of inspiring others who are going through what i have went through. =)

Im about the same size as you were in the beginning, and it definitely limits the characters you can accurately portray. I am in starting to work on getting smaller though, for costuming and for health reasons. Congrats, and very inspiring!

I am around the size you are, but taller. I hope to lose weight like you.
The Logan costume looks nice! What material is it made out of?

:lol

Great first line considering the subject.

That is an awesome Wolverine and an even better story about your results. Progress like momentum is slow at start but gains over time. :thumbsup

Big doesn't default to fat nor skinny to fit.
It is more important to be healthy and happy and your critics can look at your middle claw.

Well done dude on all parts, the costume looks awesome and you look amazing in it.

It always helps to have a goal and supportive people around you.

Thanks man :) Yea, it really helps alot to have a goal and support from others. Last time i tried doing it by myself, couldnt pull good results then compared to now.

I started loosing weight to join the military, not for costumes, but the same applies. All you need is to set goals, stick to it and have a good support system. Can't see the pic on this computer but congrats on all that progress!

I was almost 300lbs in 2004 when I started and now I'm almost at 180lbs, I fluxuate but still keeping under 200! lol

My next goal is to loose my spare tire to fit into a Spandex Booster Gold costume >_>

Also, i guess it says alot about America that your XL is our Large haha.

Well done on your progress mate. I've struggled a bit with weight in the past and I know how hard it can be. Your costume looks awesome and you're a good example of what you can achieve if you put your mind to it and stick it out for the long haul.
