Weathering

I've just got a Stormtrooper blaster and thought I'ld have a go at weathering it. Now I've never done anything like this before and so need some help. I'ld thought about just handling it, and letting nature take its course. However I'm sure you will have some better ideas......

Most important question is what is the blaster made of? The construction material and how it's painted will determine how you can weather it.

Once we have that information, we can help with the weathering issue.

I have always like the look of dipping a toothpick in silver paint and running it along the edges. I gives it a nice used look.

Get some Silver Rub n Buff. Comes in small paint tubes at most art supply stores. Get a tiny smear on your finger and lightly brush the areas of the gun you want to 'wear'. Alternate between actually dabs (hard impacts taking paint off) to soft smears (paint worn away from rubbing)

Would this be called anything different in the UK and does it 'stay' once put on, or can it be removed if I make a hash of it? Also what technique would you use to 'dab' to get the right effect?

Hey Dan,
Very nice blasters you got there!!! I was just wondering why the power cylinders were backward?!

:lol yep that's my bad :lol

I am still new to building and should have made sure all the parts were the right way huh!
