Weathering a restraining bolt?

Other than screen-caps, does anyone have or know where I can find reference material on what the weathering looked like for the driod restraining bolts?

I was thinking about keeping some "new" and weathering others. Here is a pic.

It seems to show more of a paint scheme than actual weathering, but it might give you reference to work from...

I was thinking about doing some custom weathering on mine. Maybe some white paint and bluing for R2's bolt and some RubNBuff gold on 3PO's.

Going from memory here, but I picture it being painted all black and then heavily weathered with a scotchbrite pad so that the aluminum shows through.

I thought that I saw some rust on 3PO's bolt but it could just be a reflection from his body.
