Warehouse 13 - The Tesla Gun

I got the meter and it looks really close. Will redo the scale when I can and remove the logo.

The adjustment screw is a philips head not a slot one like this I think and it needs two terminals added to it but otherwise is pretty good.

Let's not do that! There will be plenty of these to go around.
I've got a bid on the API Model 361 at the moment. It's cheap, but has a logo in the center of the dial.
Shout out if anyone has a bid in place! No need to jack the prices up on each other!:cool

I sold my lathe years ago, but I've still got a drill press, band saw, welders, torches, etc. My favorite shop tool is the 72" belt sander.

Handgrip completed, as well as the insulation foam padding, and the front trigger assembly. Time to break for lunch, and pick up our farnsworth faceplates from the engravers! It'll be tough not to want to assemble those first, but the derrenger tesla is taking priority today, I think.

Edit: A few hours later, more is shaping up.
Coming along really well!
Are ya gonna make it light up?

Nope. The original prop never showed any lights that I saw.. plus there is literally no room. The handle is solid wood, and the main body above it will have to be solid to hold the front barrel assembly. I suppose you could add a watch battery driven led, and cobble up a trigger in the trigger cylinders, but that exceeds my current build capability.

(Plus its supposed to be done along with a full sized tesla, two farnsworths, and a bunch of OTHER costume stuff for dragoncon by thursday.)

Right now I'm making a pattern for a western pistol belt with two oversized western holsters on it for nerf Mavericks. SUCH fun!

If I had unlimited time, I might consider lights for the mini tesla, but for now it'll be a static prop, and with luck, one that was built in two days.
(One day down, one day allotted for completing it and the two farnsworths.)

I met both of them at Dragon*Con last year. Funny enough, meeting them was like meeting their characters. Saul pretty much acts like Artie and Eddie is like meeting Pete. Saul was a bit under the weather so he was a real trooper for keeping his schedule and Eddie was hilarious and a great guy. I got them to sign my QMx Farnsworth :)

Well some progress has been achieved this week, I might and that is a big might get to the gauges this week....sorry for the crappy pics.

I have these 2 meters coming and will scan them and post them here incase anyone wants to use them. I am not sure which i will use yet but probably the top one.

Unfortunately, some medical issues popped up here, and theres no way I'll have our tesla derrenger ready for dragoncon. 8(

At this point, I'll be lucky if our farnsworths are assembled.

Upside is I'll have more time to finish the derrenger, and hopefully won;t have to cut corners.

Thanks! I'll live. I went to the doc yesterday, but I got a doofus since my regular doc wasn't there, and he was worthless. My doc is in today and can take care of me, but I won't be able to put anything on my back that can irritate the issue. So no proton pack for me at Dragoncon this year.

(Everything else I did doesn't really have any significant back support, so at least my other costumes are good to go!)

Nice work Timelordd..... I especially like that you didn't forget the little detail in the ends of the rods.

Kenney

Timelordd those rods look perfect. i haven't had any luck finding anything similar. the smallest tubing i can find is quarter inch. did you fabricate those?
