War Machine Costume

So Mr. Squid. What will be the first event you'll attend in this wonderful suit. Seeing that you live in Valencia. Will you be heading to the Anime Expo down here in LA. Or SD comic con

Haha. Valencia! I hadn't noticed.

I work for a company covering conventions, so I'll look forward to seeing both you guys at the cons out here.

This suit is so awesome and you spent so much time on it I'd venture to guess that you haven't been watching any TV. Allow me to help you out, there's been a big oil spill, american idol and dancing with the stars have ended, oh and so has survivor. And I bet you missed the last couple of trash days in your neighborhood. C'mon admit it, the cans have been out on the curb for weeks! Dude, you ARE the war machine! great Job!

The city of hope picnic - I was part of a group called heroes for hire. I will going to San Diego comic con, but as usual, I didn't even know Anime con was going on.

I actually didn't know about the oil spill till yesterday, my wife told me about it. She watched the rest of lost, so I have to catch up. I never watch american idol, and I think I might claw out my eyes over danding with the hacks. I actually was happy when that ***** was voted off early. (I can't remeber her name, just that she was a pycho on some show with 7 kids and her husband left her. (my wife loves the show))

Six Flags Magic Mountain Country My friend. I cant wait to go.

Let me know when your in town, my wife wants to take the kids, maybe we can all go. they can ride the rides and we can talk about how we hate making patterns that others want.:lol

So here it is! These are the test fits done Friday at 2 am. Then some pics from the charity event itself. All and all I think it works pretty well. I'll probably cut about 3 inches off the lower arms, they seem out of proportion to the legs, and I need to finish out the back details and mount the mini-gun. I was lucky, they actually have a no guns rule at the event, so I didn't need to finish the gun in time.

Nuff said.

This armor is amazing! I'm gonna order some of the foam you used cause I needed more anyway haha. I was wondering though, I'm making a Iron Man/ war machine costume as well and wanted to know how you designed you templates and pattens for the armor? Is it more or less a pepakura pattern or do you have a speciallized template you had to make. Also, how much foam did you use on your war machine project? I'm between 6'8-6'10 in the boots I have for my costumes and was thinking about how much foam I may need to use. Again, awesome Armor man!!

Now THIS is what I call a fantastic build, and your generosity in sharing build info, and WIP photos are truly to be admired.

This is what this community is about :thumbsup

I saw pictures of your outfit for yesterday's City of Hope Cancer Survivors Picnic on Facebook. Your outfit looked great and it was nice that you helped out with such a worthwhile cause. :)

Please Tell me that you'll be at comic con

Yes indeed, all 5 days. If you want, PM your cell and we'll coordinate a meeting.

Always happy to give back when I can. I actually know only a few charities, and if people want me to come, let me know. I will do whatever I can to come and make kids happy, it really is a joy.:)
