Thanks guys,

It will be nice to get the suit building done before the end of sept. I don't want to do a last minute build like last year. This one is more complex because of the electronics. I'll need October to deal with that.

hey Finhead,
You should ask this awesome builder named Clinton to make you a Mark III. It looks so legit :thumbsup
lol

Re: WAR MACHINE - Costume Vlog - Race To Halloween 2012 - UPDATE - Sept.9.2012

thanks man, I wish I could upload the abs but I just drew them onto the foam

along with the sides and the spine. I'm not done the rest of the spine because I wanted to finish the cod first. Now that I'm done it, I can create extra sections of the spine so that it fills that little gap above the rear of the cod and have it velcro all together.

Can you take close up shots of the front and sides of the abs section so that I can eyeball the cut pattern for it?

Re: WAR MACHINE - Costume Vlog - Race To Halloween 2012 - UPDATE - Sept.9.2012

I've pretty much been following you since you started posting(on the 405th, can you imagine! lol) And i must say, it is absolutely crazy to see someone's skills increasing like it did with your set of skills! Very nice work indeed, sir. You inspire me to start workin on a costume. Now I've only got to figure out what kind of costume, since i'm a giant.(hulkbuster, maybe?)

I salute you!

Are you going with the blue reactor for the suit or red? I see alot of people use red even though in the movie it's yellow, but I think the blue one looks cooler. I dunno I might make both just to compare for mine, guess we'll see though heh.

I remember you Bob. You were one of the youngest members around the 405th at the time making costumes. Nice to see you're still around here as well.
The hardest thing to do when you're inspired is what you're going to build. You want to choose something you know you're not going to lose interest in.

That's how it works for me as of now. I like to be 100% sure now. If I abandon a project I throw it away. I hate leaving it around.

So keep that in mind before you start. Be assertive in what you want to build.

I'm gonna just leave it as white a possible. As you state, it's not red as everything seems to think. The only time it was red was in a promotional poster. I think white with a bluish hue is fine with me.
I'll try to get that red border effect for the eyes at least.

I will use white leds on mine as well

Re: WAR MACHINE - Costume Vlog - Race To Halloween 2012 - UPDATE - Sept.9.2012

I finished the thighs and shins.

I had to mod them a lot to keep them in proportions with everything else.

I need to do some modding to other areas like the spine, which needs extending down to the cod. I plan to make a few more sections of the spine to fill that gap and I need to trim/shape down the cod so it's more flush with my A** ...lol

That being said. I thought I'd suit up with what I have so far and show you guys how it looks

Thanks for watching

Its a shame that your suit will be done before mine although I started almost a year before you lol.

Anyhow everything is looking good, really makes you look like a tank.......in a small package jk haha
Keep up the awesome work, and on a side note, I'm interested in seeing your molding and casting tut

hey i know this sounds like a stupid question but in reference on straps and buckles do u do that before or after sealing the foam??

Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - SUIT UP Mobility Test - Sept. 13. 12

How are your shoulder bells attached? Straps and buckles from upper torso or velcro from your shoulders?

Re: WAR MACHINE - Costume Vlog - Race To Halloween 2012 - UPDATE - Sept.9.2012

Good to see you around man.

I've been away. Did you finish that CQB armor?

Still working on it buddy. It's coming along quite nicely though, hoping to finish by Halo-ween this year. Thanks for asking, I appreciate that. :D

Great vid, do you use a wet suit or a lycra suit under the armor?

Re: WAR MACHINE - Race to Halloween 2012 - SUIT UP Mobility Test - Sept. 13. 12

Looking really nice so far Stealth. You where one of the main people that inspired me to start my costume building and with out your YouTube vids I think I would have had to do a huge amount of searching. In fact I just got back from buying red and black elastic and some silver fabric paint as I will be painting the mechanics on my undersuit so if there are any gaps you will still see details in there.

Looking forward to seeing this one all finished up,
Tom.
