War machine 1st attempt

Hello everyone I know this is going to sound like a rookie question...but what scale did you use for your helmets....I thought i did mine at 1.44 scale..but not sure now..I'm going to redo my helmet because mine fits tight...i know made007 you said you did yours at default Which would be? Is it 1.00 scale?
I think mine is not 1.44 because it would be huge if i did..
Well would really appreciate it guys/n girls..also your head size..thanks a lot..
I feel like a noobie..lol..well maybe i am..i haven't finished 1 single suit..lol

Your honesty is one of the reasons I follow everything you do.
Outside of that, I though you pushed 1.25? Maybe just me remembering wrong.

Thanks laellee that means a lot to me..

.can't remember..my notes said 1.44 and my i posted 1.44 but when i check the distance between points on pep its not the same as my helmet..maybe I write it down wrong..it was the first pep i made so that could of been it..lol

I know, we look at the point-to-points again, dude we forgot how bad it was that first look lol :)

Mine says width 176mm, its what i always check because of the ears, if you measure your head width youll know how to scale it
i could have done it 180mm and it would have fit me better, because i used a lot of bondo to make it bigger, so when i mold it i had a larger room inside than the pep helmet, my head is 22"

Thanks guys..I'll print out my helmet later on Saturday..for now i worked on my torso..I'm reinforcing it with square tubing..i scraped the wood..after my mini gun fell...I rewelded all my tack welds i made..I'm still cutting the tubing ran out of time..don't want to make to much noise with my compressor. Since i ran out of resin i have to work on other stuff..lol..I'll get more resin this weekend..well no pictures for now..also working on shoes added some metal on sides..for reinforcement..

So i went from wood to metal

So from this.......

Wouldn't the steel frame be too heavy for the suit? Great job btw. :D Really serves as an inspiration for all those WM builders!

That piece Is all I'm putting in..but it doesn't weight much..buy i guess a little of this and that it adds up...we'll see at the end...it's a must to have....

I think ill use aluminum for mine plus extra fiberglass from inside, i did a test and the weight in the back pulls te chest
So i have to - 1- add weight to the chest to level it up
2-do some kind of base with webbing straps from inside to attach it to my body so it wont tilt back
I ordered some gearbox and stuff from servocity (76$ in stuff) but i find the pvc barrels heavy, i dont know if a3v gearbox will move em

they do sale fiber glass square tubing
Not that over seen..in pretty sure they do..i had a ladder made or of fiberglass i threw away last year if i knew i could of used it i would of..I'm actually using one inch tubing metal..

Well today I added a brace on top and back where the tube will be..it's more surface area for metal to hold on to..

Yep you can. I've got a place I order from that carries both round and square stock fiberglass, but it's pricy. A five foot section of 1" square about 5' long costs around $20. You can get the same piece in 6061 aluminum for 3-4 dollars more, and it's going to prevent warpage a lot more.

ok no problem...no updates had to leave town on emergency...but off for two days maybe I'll have something to show.

Looks fantastic so far! I don't know how far you are into the Ammo belt for the M134, but have you considered doing the links in smooth cast? You could easily cast multiple at a time, and they would be fairly light-weight and more durable than cardboard. Just a though, other than that, this is looking seriously fantastic, keep up the good work!
