Re: War machine 1st attempt...
So i was thinking..when you build subwoofer speaker boxes people use fleece some of the time..so why can't we use it for our projects...i think If out can handle the pounding of the woofers it can handle us..lol..well i found some fiber glass that i had in my shed i know i have another one somewhere..But for now it will do..so going back to the fleece..you think we can use other cloths? Well were going to find out today..well tomorrow because i left it to dry....heres what we got..i have lots of white cotton shirts from work that don't look to white anymore or have stains...and Jean material...
So i got a clean card stock paper for testing.i resin the paper and placed the pieces..the cotton white short absorbed it the fastes then the fiberglass last the Jean...so i applied another coat to top...
Here it is without resin.
Here it is with resin
After a few minutes the jean seemed drier than the other two like it soaked in most of it..so i will let you know which one was better..maybe the fiberglass may be better but for the people that are on a Budget it May be thebest solution..sorry i had no fleece but i will try to get someor get an old baby blanket that we have...we'll see tomorrow...
Another thing to save some money i bought these cups to mix at Walmart..their nice Because they have the measurements on there..they were 89 cents...
...
Heres a tip for those that don't know..like me..if you mix wrong or take your time and your resin begins to gel leave it alone in the cup don't take it out...should look like this...
Hers a trick when its completely dry..squeeze it turn it and squeeze again..you will hear crackling and breaking noises..its not the cup our will be the resin..
Turn it around...tap it a little..
Take the resin out or our should slide out...and you will save on buying cups....
Then you can clean it some more if you want but should look like this after it slides out
Also for brushes i saved 5 or of seven..you can get laquer thinner to clean them...i know you can buy cheap ones but for those that have Some thinner you can save some money....
Also..use gloves..resin n thinner is bad when you get some on you out starts to burn..use in well ventilated area..but you all should know that by now...
Sorry about my spelling..my rambling..and my punctuation..I'm on my phone and it misspells words ..and I'm nitty that great either..lol...
