Wand Company Twelfth w/ minor mods

Just some minor changes that I really expected WC to have made while still trying to keep down their costs. Those hollow ( but still faaar too skinny) claws have been filled in, the copper sheen toned down and a leather grip to replace the rubber. I also sanded the emitter diode to make it look a little less plasticity.

What did you do to the copper plastic parts to make them match the metallic copper so well? Has dulling the emitter made the IR diode less responsive?

How did you remove the clear coat from the copper parts? I can't figure out a way to take mine apart fully without breaking it, and the parts I did try to soak in oven cleaner were completely unaffected.

I used nail varnish remover. Just poured a small amount on a cloth then dabbed and wiped at the clear coating until; it started to come away. I then used some very fine grit sandpaper to tarnish the metal to the point I was happy with it.

Sorry for not responding, lost track of the thread. Thanks for the write up. I just gave it a shot and didn't have any luck, probably spent about 5 minutes on one spot on the back end of the sonic. How long did you have to focus on each spot, and did you use just an ordinary nail polish remover, or was it some kind of extra strength type?
