I finally got this thing finished after many years of laziness. Thanks to all those concerned, you know who you are ;)

Wow! I have never seen anybody replicating that one before...there just doesn't seem to be much love for the more obscure blasters. Nice job my man! Is it a resin cast with metal pieces?

Yes, unfortunately real Charter Arms rifles are both thin on the ground in the UK and bloody expensive! So I had to use a resin base.

The rest is about as good as it's going to get: Real front mortar tail, machined scope rail, scope cobbled together from (some correct) vintage parts and the grip is metal.

That is wicked cool in that red-headed-stepchild sort of way.

:D

All I can think of now is the Robot Chicken Star Wars episode where they show (in subtitles) what Ponda was really saying to Luke.

:lol

I know which arm they always showed on the floor, but keep watching which character is ACTUALLY holding a severed stump ;)

Ha you beat me Marcus!...good job :)

I ran into a problem with the epoxy putty not hardening (which I used to fill some seams and smaller holes). So I have to completely strip down the goo and start all over again :unsure

BTW: You know that you HAVE TO get your "brotherinarms" a piece of that grip material, right!? ;) :lol

I thought it was really interesting that in the original black and white footage of the cantina (before the re-shoots in the US), its both Walrusman's 'paddle' on the floor and his gun, but in the final movie its a hairy arm and Evazan's gun.

For those interested in the grip we have Wampa to thank for that. Its a rigid but bendable copper plumbing pipe. Not completely accurate but the best thing that I've seen so far.

Thanks Tom! :thumbsup

Over here in the UK B&Q call it a 'plumbing stick' and it costs about £8.
