Hi guys

I am new to the world of robotics my aim is to build a wall-e from the plans on the wall-e builder club. I think its a little over my skill level as I would love a moving wall-e. I have no time scale to finish the project as the the moment I am in the researching stages.

Where would be the best place to start for a moving wall-e or is it better to build him static first then modify him after

I am a member on the wall-e builders club.
Looking for all the help I can get from wall-e and r2 builders
All the best
Chris

Don't know why you shouldn't be able to get all the help you'll ever need off both clubs. Best Walle and R2s Ive ever seen...especially Mike Senna's who is a member here. Both clubs have members on the RPF so I'm sure someone will chime in here when they are not busy.

Wall-E is a bit difficult as his scale changes from scene to scene. R2 has a set scale and my R2 is about 70% finished using plans and parts found through Astromech.net. I would imagine that you will need to pick a scene from the Wall-E movie that includes a known item like the cooler that Wall-E carries around then scale Wall-E from there. Good luck with your project.

If you want him motorized you need to have a plan on how you are going to put all the electronics in before you start. I'm building one (static) that will be lifting my tv above it's head.
