Walking Dead Sheriff Uniform

Nice work HakSawJak! If you ever need me to take a picture of how that safety goes back in let me know. I struggled the first time I took it apart to get it back together as well, but I think I can do it comfortably now lol. The hardest part was the spring that holds the part/pin to make the cylinder spin.

I think I can live without the safety as long as the gun fires. My black gun on the other hand is a hot mess. lol. But i'm not to worried about it anyways since i can't put the black grip on it. The grip won'te fit unless I bevel out that section that you pointed out on the silver gun. I only paid $25 for the black gun so I'll just chalk it up as $25 grips! :)

I finally replaced my old plain boring holster with a nice Earl Ginn basketweave swivel holster! I think it looks great. Let me know what you think. My belt is finally done! If anyone wants either of my old holster (pictured below) let me know coz I'll probably sell them on!

Note - and I know the holster has a bullet holder along the top which is not SA but I'm unsure as to whether it'd be worth removing it off or just keeping it. Thoughts on that would be good. Thanks!

First of all I want to to say THANK YOU!!! You all have helped me finish my "rick" cowboy hat. I can believe the attention to detail so of you have. WOW!!

If your looking for a "CON" with a bunch of the cast from TWD check out "TEXAS FRIGHTMARE WEEKEND" in Dallas Tx. I was there last year. I was really cool. ( and the whole reason I'm a fan of TWD )

Madison, IronE, Chandler, Rooker were there. Super cool people!!!

They are going to have MOST of the cast again this year. ( I'LL BE THERE!!! ) So i just wanted to pass it down to you.

here's a link Texas Frightmare Weekend | The Southwest's Premier Horror Convention

Again TKS!!!

So i finally decided to start my own build thread. It's a work in progress and I'll be uploading pieces of it as I go along. At the end, I hope to have a summary/shopping list to help people streamline their build. I KNOW I KNOW.... it's more fun to comb through Skruffy's 25 pages and 3 years of posts. But hey, gotta worry about efficiency right? Anyways, ya'll are welcome to check it out. Stay tuned cause I got a LOT more to add as I have to time (where does the time go?).

The Walking Dead: Rick Grimes Sheriff Uniform (Season 1)

Have fun my fellow Grimes'!

Just a quick couple of photos of my practically finished Grimes outfit.... just need to dirty it up. Thanks to all that have made this possible... it's been so fun finding pieces and getting it together!

Who gave young Sean Astin a gun? :lol Looking good!

Haha... you know that's weird someone said the other say if Sean Astin and Elijah Wood had a kid together it'd look like me. So strange. Thanks though ... let's just hope I don't put on weight like him.

I showed my friend this picture and he told me I looked a bit like Andrew Lincoln... as if I were related to him... I now love my friend much more.

Thanks for the comment, really enjoyed putting this one together can't wait to grubby it up!

I've never tried to dirty/bloody up clothes ... How did y'all do it? And is it still machine washable afterwards?

Depends on what you want it to look like. I have not ever bloodied anything up other than an old costume and that wasn't really expensive so I used a mix of acrylic paint and some water based varnish and a sponge, paintbrush and my hands.

For dirty clothes though that's easy.... with my Grimes stuff I'm going to go out early in the morning into my garden one day wearing my trousers and shirt (all badges etc removed) and simply roll around on the muddy grass. It'll be just damp enough to make it cover slightly and good enough to make it look natural. Should be good. If that fails to give a good look i'll take the shirt off and stamp on it a few times :p I want it to look just like his did... unwashed and sweaty and grubby like i've seen some tough times! haha. I'll keep you posted when I start.

I finally got my gun pretty close to where I wanted it to be.

I was using an airsoft, but there was no way around it being obviously plastic. I wanted something that was more replica than toy, so I went with the Ekol Viper 6" (EKOL VIPER, .380, BLANK GUN, 6" - EMF Company).

The stock/standard grips that it comes with are completely wrong, obviously, so I got a set of real wooden Colt grips. Unfortunately, the internal structure of the Ekol grip is nothing like a real Colt and the wood grips barely came close to fitting. To overcome this, I molded the grips so I could reproduce them in resin and carve out what needed to be removed form the inside to make them fit and add what was needed on the outside. This took a lot of careful use of a dremel, and some wood putty and bondo on the outside to fill gaps and build it up where needed.

Once I had them perfectly fit, I removed them and painted them. I'm mostly happy with the paint job, though the flash makes them look much lighter than they are in person. I've been reading up on how to fake wood grain with paint, but that's beyond my skill set right now. Still, I may give it a shot in the future. For now, though, I have a gun that is REALLY close to accurate in appearance and heft, and I like it so much more than the airsoft I was using!

Hey, can anybody direct me towards the kind of t-shirt that Shane wears? The grey one with the small King's County logo? I saw a thread a while back selling them but didn't get in on a run. Did anybody in this thread buy one?
