Walking Dead Sheriff Uniform

After having a chance to look closer, the handle in your picture does not match the handle in the ebay auction. Where do you get your handle?

Aposstle's had a black handle that he painted. It's not 100% SA but looks pretty darn good considering how rare the STTI versions are nowadays.

What do ya'll think of this one as a possible replica? handle looks close. Body of the gun look close enough?

UHC Model 134 Green Gas Airsoft Revolver, airsoft pistol, airsoft gun

The handle is good but the gun isn't a Colt Python. Someone on RPF bought the Colt and this one then carefully (and I imagine with great patience and skill) swapped the handles.

So if i didn't want to buy two guns and swap the handle, how hard do ya'll think it would be to buy the black gun with the brown handle, remove the handle, spray paint it metallic chrome, and then reattach the handle. Not having it in front of me makes it hard to have an accurate opinion. I just wondered if painting the parts would affect the moving parts of the gun and the ability to open and close the loader, pull triger, hammer action etc.

Bearing in mind that I've not examined it, it'll be either easy or impossible. heh... not very helpful, I know... but, for example, the one I wound up with has a non-removable grip. It's probably a lot cheaper for the slaves in China to just mold the grip in place and paint it rather than to make the body and then a grip, and then attach one to the other...

Started collecting my uniform and bits a couple weeks ago. Have majority of my items, but still waiting on a few. Originally I picked up the cheap UHC Python, but was not impressed with it. So I picked up another one in hopes to adding wood grips.

Top one UHC
Bottom Tokyo Marui

The UHC feels very plastic, and has a dull color. While the shells are a nice feature, the unrealistic trigger pulls throws me off. Thankfully was only $33.

The Tokyo Marui was over $100 more does make up for that with a better finish, Colt trademarks, double action trigger pull, and a little more weight to it. Gas powered, and has a nice thud when you dry fire it gas'd up without BB's.

I purchased real wood grips in hopes to mod them to fit the TM. After removing the rubber grips I found out that wasn't possible. The gas reservoir prevents that. I even went as far as trying to remove the gas tank completely, but with no luck. Spent an hour putting it back together. Even went as far as taking the UHC apart...yet another 30 min of putting it back with nothing to show for it...

This is what I have so far. Still need pants, name plate, and boots.

Going thru my airsoft armory(close to 50 guns), I've found a few guns that while aren't exactly screen accurate, are close. I picked a few that Rick has used.

On Ebay of course :p

Just look for key words like:

Vintage police holster
Swivel holster
Vintage Bianchi
Basketweave police holster

I was planning on buying the silver UHC and the Black UHC and swapping the handles (see my earlier post). What was the issue with removing the grip on the silver UHC? Do you forsee me running into issues making the swap? My thought process was that this is the model gun so the grip swapping should be fairly easy.

I don't know if THAT particular one is the same as my UHC python but mine is one whole complete plastic piece with a fake screw. No chance of swapping anything... I simply masked the areas off and painted it a fairly accurate brown.

It can be done. Just a matter of how comfortable you are in taking it apart. The poor design of the gun has an internal screw needed to be removed to remove one of the halves of the grip.

Yes there is a fake screw in the middle of the grips, but there is a small screw at the top of the grips, near the hammer that allows you to separate one of the halves.

Then you will need to take the gun down to this...and removed that pesky screw I circled.

Watch when you take the top plate off when revealing internals. There is a small spring that can be easily lost. Remember how to put everything back :p

Excellent Detail! Which model is this? I noticed that there are two UHC models that look almost identical but are two different price points.

One is the UA938S: 938 Airsoft Revolver 6' Barrel - Silver by UHC

The other is the UG139SR: TSD/UHC Model 139SR 6in Green Gas Revolver - Airsoft Guns

I'm not really sure what the difference are but I bought the more expensive UG139SR just because I thought the quality might be better and also because it matched the price point of the black gun (UG139B TSD/UHC Model 139B 6in Green Gas Revolver, Airsoft Gun ). So my rational was that if I had 2 guns that looked identical and were identical price points then swapping the handles should be simpler.

Anyways, both the UG139SR and the UG139B have been ordered. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out once they get here.

I am SOOOOOOO frustrated! I received both guns as mentioned earlier with the intentions on swapping the grips. To my dismay, the construction of the two guns are totally different. As you can see in the picture, the silver gun handle is completely wrapped in the black grip. However, the black gun has it's handle frame exposed. Since this silver gun does not have this exposed frame piece, it's pretty much impossible to swap the grips. Back to the drawing board!!

Any suggestions?

The spine of the frame is still hidden under that grip. So you can still swap the grips. They should be from the same mold, just different color plastic used. However I did notice something now. There is a small section drilled out to make the black grip style work. So you will have a small indent on the back of the frame that the wooden grips wouldn't cover.

Great intel Ejay!!

I'm thinking I might should start my own thread. I feel like I'm kind of hijacking this one lol.

Worked like a charm! Booyah! Very difficult process though. All the little pieces fell out of the black gun and it will not fire anymore. Foretunately I was more careful with the silver gun and only the "safety" fell apart. But the gun still fires which is a plus!!
