Walking Dead - Daryl Dixon's New Bike Replica Build

Hi guys. Thinking about this project...over time. I'm a photographer, and a lot of clients have dried up because of the COVID-19 thing...anyway, wondering about the tank...it says in various places they used an aftermarket tank...wondering if it's this one:
Standard Fuel Tank Black Paint

Also, I used to make knives, and I can tell you, on the brass plate on the engine, the perforated screen on the muffler, etc. it looks like the coloring was done with a torch...and then clear coated. Does anyone know how the "repair plate" is attached to the engine cover?

Last, thank you to all who worked so hard on this list. What a huge benefit for the rest of us!

The tank is from MikeXS. The exact one is no longer sold, but I believe that is the part that replaced it. Main difference is the petcocks are no longer included and the steel is thinner. Could make welding the patch on it trickier.

The engine cover plate is attached 2 ways. First it is welded to the clutch cable bracket, then riveted to the cover.

Ah, got it. Thanks.

Ok. Question. The Shorai Lithium Ion battery....I’ve heard you can’t charge them with a normal lead acid battery charger to include an alternator. Is that correct?

BTW, bought a ‘91 yesterday. I blame all of you guys. ;)

Not sure on the battery charger, but the Shorai works fine with the bike's stock stator for charging.

Sorry to bring up an old post. I recently *finished* my build however I plan on adding an R6 front end. I’ve just purchased a full exhaust system, which don’t normally pop up in the U.K., my question is, who is running straight through? My bike is already running the RAMAIR setup and straight through generic stubby exhausts, so I imagine it’s a case of chopping the new exhaust and removing the baffles? Thankyou in advance.

Mine is straight through as you call it. I have the pods and an open exhaust (baffles removed). Just needed a jet kit and some shims and she runs great.

Awesome. Thanks for the fast reply! Do you still have your bike? I’ve watched this forum for a few years on and off with amazement. Finally made an account to ask a few questions.

Sorry for all of the Noob questions...! :)
does anyone know what this red tag is?

Its a piece of red webbed material attached to a key ring, that is connected to the petcock. It says Reserve with a downward facing arrow written in what looks like black sharpie. Pretty sure there is a clearer shot of it on one of these pages.

Here are a few pics

I have too many projects and decided to let someone with more time finish this. The bike has a clean clear pa title. This will save you a lot of money in unobtainable parts as well.

I've just finished my apocalypse themed CB750 (seven fifty) 1992.
I knew nothing about the bikes, bought a frame and rear wheel in February and went from there.
Going to make a front fender next but needs to look right.
Got some inspiration from the guys on here.

My engine is a late import 2007 Rc17E with hydraulic clutch.... Similar to the CBX but this is 5 speed.

I used a R1 front end.
Features usable/removable shovel rear fender.

Glock 17/19 holster that you can easily access when riding (left handed!)

Shotgun bandolier on the fuel tank.

Modified standard exhaust, sounds so good!

Continental tkc80 twinduro tyres.

Pro taper contour fat bars.

Cut it just behind the rear baffle plate. There's a pre-muffler in the tapered parts anyway. Don't need to bother with baffles. Watch my video with the sound clip

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the custom front grill?/headlight mount perforated plate thingy? I don’t have the front end yet...and I have time to make this. Thank you in advance ! I am trying to do my own homework (I’ve read this entire thread 5 times lol), believe it or not. :)
