Voltron: Legendary Defender Paladin Build

Hey guys,
ive decided to start a long in depth build of the paladin armour from the new Voltron series on netflix-
*QUICK WARNING* I WILL NOT BE GIVING OUT THE TEMPLATES AS SOME ARE MODIFIED TEMPLATES FROM ONLINE STORES ( MAINLY EVILTEDSMITH )

So to start out Im going to work my way down the armour starting from the helmet-
for this I bought a template from EvilTedSmith(template here) and modified it to have more rounded edges

Once that was done I added all the detail to it so i knew where to add in additional cuts-

Now before I go any further I check again that these look the right size against my head-

Im also going to be using the elbow /knee patterns later in this build -
Thats all ive got for now until my foam arrives

some progress pictures -
so I started by drawing and cutting my template out on my foam -

after that I added in my detail by making small cuts that don't go all the way through and then heating up the foam, and then i shaped the side pieces to be more rounded-


while i was at it i made templates for the hip pods and the chest armour ... I still have a lot of work to do on the chest but I got the basic shape -

got some more detail on the back - going to get the contact adhesive / cement.
im so excited to finish this cosplay and im even more excite to bring people along with me on the ride thanks for the support

this isnt the final back i still have the backpack to glue on-
i have to state that the final chest piece wont be 100% accurate as i thought i would put my "twist" on it

my first attempt of the helmet came out alright but I have a lot of patching up to do -

i might make the next one smaller but we shall see

Sorry that this hasn't been very active- basically I made the whole chest piece and messed it all up. But I have corrected the helmet - if you want to buy one message me on my etsy!
