Visor rails for Richies X-Wing helmet - Need advice

A friend purchased a Richie's X-Wing helmet kit and is having me do the build up and paint.

Does anyone have a template or idea what to do since it seems Richie no longer offers these with the X-Wing kits? Looks like I will need to scratch build a solution.

Also, will submersing the acrylic lens in boiling water and the twisting it help to get a bow out?
