Vintage Kobold Clip - HELP NEEDED

Here's a little update and advice for anyone out there...

I took thd9791's advice and used some Silver Rub 'n' Buff and this is how it turned out after 3 applications! I think it turned out pretty good and definitely a LOT better then before! I'd hate to see a real vintage clip go to waste and I think this is more than acceptable given the circumstance!

Excellent! Genius idea

oh man that's awesome! congrats! it looks exactly like a silver kobold clip now. super happy for you, that's definitely a nice save (y)

nice work!!! Yea I can't tell the difference anymore, even close-up. I'm glad that suggestion paid off!

To those wondering about run n buffs durability.. if you rub it a lot with your hands when applying it heats up a little and that helps seal the wax. And it is wax, and not paint, so its pretty durable and won't chip or flake off like paint that doesn't adhere. It might start to thin or rub off with really rough handling.

So would suggest using either a heat gun or hairdryer to help seal it if you don't want to rub it?

Yea, a light bit from a heat gun may help. Rub n Buff has solvents in it, so it does solidify on its own after a day or two. I wouldnt go too heavy with the heat though, the temp increase from your hands may be only 10-20˚
