Hello RPF!

And so, after 5+ months of work, I finally finished my most ambitious cosplay yet, based on my favorite game of all time, VANQUISH. I have always wanted to do an armour build, so I figured there was no time like the present to just jump in and attempt my favorite one.

I simply adore everything about this game....I guess you could say I am a *little* obsessed:

This weekend at Seattle's SakuraCon was my official reveal

We simply couldn't have asked for a better weekend weather wise, and I was so happy to be able to don the ARS and wear it for 8.5hrs straight.

And finally: my ultimate achievement unlocked: playing the game IN cosplay.

The suit is constructed from EVA and sintra and painted with a variety of acrylics and Krylon paint.

I was hoping the weathering wouldn't look "fake" but it needed something, otherwise it would have been too clean......and I wanted to appear as if I had done my time with the RI's....

I modeled everything myself. I had seen some templates on another forum but decided that if I was going to do this build, I wanted to be responsible for all of it from start to finish, so I used my play arts figure as a reference and went at it.
I don't have a lot of WIP photos (if at all) because once the knife hit the foam it was a just a blur; trial and error, testing, etc......In retrospect, I wish I had taken more photos.

So I decided to enter my very first masquerade, and I am very humbled and honoured to have won the judges choice award for craftsmanship in the novice class.



It was truly a thrill, and I was very happy to represent this game to the best of my ability.

Never heard of the game, never seen the suit.
After seeing yours, and watching the video's I'm sold. This suit looks awesome and you move around in it very well.
Color me very VERY impressed. Look forward to a more builds soon!
