Vader Costume...

Likely not.  It was my stupid fault for not looking more carefully at the armor in the first place.

Then I suggest you try to make the most of it for the time being. Maybe you can upgrade some other time in the future. You may be able to sell that set as well.

Ya, you should have no trouble selling it on Ebay....it's pretty good fan made armor I would say...just hang tight and the "real" thing might come up again in the JY :)....

:cheers,

Thomas

Ok. First pics with me somewhat dressed up.

The armor is too small, and was choking me. I'm trying to get a better one.
The surcoat/cape is ONLY a stand in, of simple fabric.

The test run was to see how the new body suit looked. Only have the tunic portion done, but pretty good, In my opinion. It'll all look MUCH better, as it comes together. But that chest armor is just TOO small. Ow ow ow.

...bodysuit looks pretty good so far....my favourite part is the helmet tho... ;)

And yes, that armor looks very small and painful......

That Armor was painful to WEAR. As soon as the pictures were done, I had my wife immediately help me get the helmet off so I could pry that armor off my body.

The bodysuit was made by my loving wife though. I'm pleased with how it turned out. Gotta do the pants next.

Ok. New question. A couple, actually.

I'm working on getting the material for my cape and cloak. I found a good place for Gaberdine Wool, both regular, and Tropical weight. I'm leaning towards the trapical weight as its not quite so heavy, and hopefully I won't die quite as much in heavy heat. But I'd like some opinions on what material to use for such.

As well, for the liner of the cape, what type of satin to use? I have NO idea. Just a black, glossy satin?

For the satin just make sure it is a durable, well made satin. I would recommend something that is triple stiched.

What about the rubies vader costumes? Other than the fact they are cheaply made, and rather innacurate?

If you take a look at this thread about the screen used costume you find the rubies came closer then we thought http://www.rpf.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=107669

New chest/shoulder armor.
(The surcoat is ONLY a stand in, and a little work still left to do on the body suit.)
I am MUCH happier with my progress now...

....much better....and I'm sure you can breathe now. :p

I'd move those bells a bit farther out from the armor...seems like they're a bit tucked in too far.
