Vacuum Form Machine - finally complete

nice set up Gino, I would love to have something like this one day.

Its sad to see all those smashed tk's. What you consider imperfect most of us would love to have on display, but I think your drive for perfection has moved the hobby forward.

Thanks guys!

I appreciate that.
PS, don't be sad for those fallen pieces, they are in a much better place.
They have passed so others could flourish. :)

ooh, very nice! i've just started collecting parts for my proto-form machine. so far i've got the heating elements, vacuum pump and most of the electrical components.

i'm working out details on the welding side, and searching out a good local source for the steel stock.

i've been working on one of the oven/shop vac combos, so it should be a treat moving to this style.

i noticed that your ceiling looks to be a similar height to mine. how much space is between your ceiling and the top of the heater? do you notice heat buildup on the joists above?

i've been thinking about a metal deflector dish on the ceiling, just in case. i'll probably have about 18" between top of the table and ceiling...

No heat build up at all.
There's quite a bit of space between them. Prob. approx 2 feet. I don't know the exact dims. though.

very nice! I'd love to make one myself, I could build the framework, platens and all the basics for nothing. (Perks of working in the steel fab business). But without any bucks it'd be kinda useless to me. lol

So where do we sign up for the Stormtrooper part of the month club?

I am kicking around the idea of biulding a vaccuform machine also!
Wow your looks like it would do the job!
LOL

Funny thing I actually came a cross a small Vaccuform machine at the "FleaMart"

I was walking along and spotted and knew right away what it was!

I didnt want to look over excited so I asked " What is this?"

The seller didnt know and then the seller next to her had to throw in his expert advice!

He said "Its a labratory device and you put petri dishes in it and its work thousands!"

I then told the lady "Well I am gonna srap it out for the aluminuim so I will give you $10"

She took it and now I have a very small 6 x6 vaccuform machine!

Gino, fantastic setup, if I may ask will you be producing finished Stormtrooper helmets for sale at all or are these all for your own personal collection? Thanks
