-- Costumed Protesters to Converge Upon White House Tuesday to Demand Responses to Petitions for Redress
-- 'V for Vendetta' Protest Reenacted to Vigilantly and Virtuously Vindicate the Vital Right to Petition
On TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14 at NOON, a measured gathering of citizens from across America, costumed in the character of "V" from the movie "V for Vendetta," will assemble in Lafayette Park across from the White House and await a response from the president regarding several petitions for Redress of Grievances that have been repeatedly served upon government officials over the last several years which document extensive violations of the Constitution.
Last Monday, a solitary costumed protester confronted the various Capitol police forces while attempting to serve the petitions upon the government. Video of "V's" sometimes vexing confrontation as the vox populi with substantial numbers of law enforcement officers can be seen on the WTP website,
http://www.GiveMeLiberty.org .
The group will assemble in Lafayette Park across from the White House where they will stand in silent vigil waiting for a response. If there is no response by 2 p.m., the group will then parade to the Main Building of the Treasury Department, and to the main buildings of the Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service where the people will again look for a response. If there is no response, the group will then parade to the Capitol Reflecting Pool where they will, again, await a response from the Congress.
Although ongoing litigation instigated by over 1700 individual We The People Foundation supporters has argued conclusively that the First Amendment Right to Petition requires government officials to respond to Petitions for Redress, the numerous petitions thus far served regarding constitutional torts involving the war powers, tax, money and privacy clauses of the Constitution have been summarily ignored.
The foundation is currently awaiting a decision from the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. See We The People, et al., v. United States, et al., Case Number 05-5359, or
http://www.GiveMeLiberty.org for additional details about this historical legal controversy in which the constitutional meaning of the petition clause is being addressed by the Judiciary for the first time in history.
