Uwe Boll makes a "movie" about the Holocaust

i dont understand how its tasteless? they did some pretty terrible things in auschhitz. its not like he's going for a space adventure with gaseous space nazis.

the trailer is definetly nsfw, and is pretty sick, but so were the things the nazis did.

Is it tasteless because it depicts actual events? I'm just wondering. Schindlers list is one of my all time favorite movies and it was just as graphic.

i've only seen his movie Bloodrayne and by the looks of this he didn't wanna sugar coat what the Nazis did.

I don't need a history lesson, thanks.

It's tasteless 'cause he's doing it for the shock value. He's not attempting to educate people, or tell a story, he's doing it 'cause he wants to be shocking.

Are y'all not familiar with Boll?

so...auschwitz wasnt shocking?

I don't see where CTF even implies that and I understand his point. If Boll wasn't a person who make film's just for the shock and awe factor then maybe there would be a difference of opinion but if his intentions are to just to make a mockery of the Holocaust then yeah tasteless.

I just think that he can't resist going a bit overboard even when he knows better. I'm hoping he has some restraint and isn't going to do a mockery but I could be wrong.

Strap Mel Gibson, His Dad, and Ahmadinejad to chairs and make them watch this over and over and over with a speaker playing "This really happened you ********" till they go insane. I hate to say it, but it may do for Holocaust deniers what Passion of the ****** did for the average Christian. I'm not straying any more into Religious territory, but sometimes human beings need something to be rammed into their brains to comprehend beyond the blase abstract of an event.

You got it.

The clip opens up with Uwe Boll dressed as a German soldier leaning against the door of the crematorium, and you can see people pounding frantically on the round porthole window. The camerawork slowly zooms in much in the style of a horror/slasher film track.

Other shots I felt were gratuitious and disrespectful was that of the woman's bare breast exposed as her body fell to the floor of the oven, as well as when the German is kneeling over one of the Jews pulling his teeth out one by one with bloodied pliers.

It's not necessarily what's being said - it's how he's saying it. Auschwitz should be treated with some respect, for the massive failure of humanity that it was, and not dramatized into torture porn for a younger audience.
