Unidentified Prop??

I'm trying to help a friend who collects original movie props identify this head. It was in a random lot of props he got and the only one that was unidentified. It looks somewhat familiar, I just can't put a finger on it. It has a sort of war helmet on and at first thought it may be a Orc from the Lord of the Rings films, but I think this may be from something much older. Anyone have a clue?

In the thumbnail it made me think of 'Barada' from Return of the Jedi, but after clicking and seeing it larger, I don't believe it is.

This looks more dog-like. I'm trying to recall, seems like there was a movie where everyone was a humanoid dog. Title eludes me.

You're right, this is a lot more feline. I spent way too much time thinking about this last night and I'm at a loss. It looks disturbingly familiar, which intrigues me a lot.
Hope somebody can figure it out for the OP.

I owned an 8 foot tall COMPLETE Kilrathi from Propstore of London and it doesn't look like the face on the one I got and they were all the same.

Maybe if you can take better pics with the mask filled some to give definition.

And better pics of the helmet or headpiece.

Headpiece is probably the key to identifying it if you can get a better picture.

You're right- the upper face has some very "Henson" qualities. It could also be true that it looks familiar to us because we've seen this artist's work before, but have never actually seen this face in particular.
Are there any indications that it has been applied?
