Ummm...what saber is this...?

Hey Al

Seems like WC´s pic-hosting is down at the moment.
We should see the pic, once it´s back running

The kobold has an O.D. of 40 mm vs. 38 mm on the graflex

Anyway...the kobold does the job (AND it also exists with silver body, not black only).
Saber identified IMHO :D

Well done Markus - it looks like this one is pinned down. :D

Another FUGLY saber to be added to our collection :lol

:lol

So this variation has officially been christened the ESB FUGLY stunt? ;)

But what's that rectangular thing sticking out the side of the Kobold in the Dagobah picture I posted? Or are my eyes playing tricks?

I'll try to post some more pics later this week.

Markus, I think your rendition is just about right. All you need to do is paint the emmiter. From the video I saw, it looks like the top of of the graflex shell was painted black (like on the DV ROTJ stunt) and also, the ciruclar part on the bulb release also looks to be painted (Not the ears though). Also, although the button is missing, and the beer tap is just sitting there, it looks like for some reason the beer tap doesn't move. It was probably stuck for some reason. When Prowes swings the prop around, the beer tap stays in a single position over the open hole, so if i was making a replica, I would put a little super glue under the tap to keep it from swinging from side to side as I move the prop.

I think Coz is to be commended on his quick identification which from Markus' mock up appears to be correct so far. Good eye.

Now I just need to find someone with a spare linhof or kobold flash for sale. I don't think I will be able to keep from building one of these badboys. It's just too fugly and cobbled.
;)

Hey Dan

Thanks for the additional input..I was not officially trying to recreate this saber, so I didn´t spend any attention to details.
I was just trying to confirm the kobold theory ;)...thanks anyway.

Hey Marcus, don´t know if Vaders saber is the same as the one we´re talkig about.
To me it looks like his ls still has some kind of clamp and that´s the rectangular detail you´re referring to.

Yeah, it's a saber I'm keen to see made and possibly add to my own collection.

The combo of the kobold and Graflex is just too cool to pass. :p

Markus, exactly how do the two halves fit together? Would it be neccessary to add some glue to make the saber secure?

Marcus - looking at that pic with the long clamp, could it be a Graflex clamp pulled all the way down to the bottom of that particular stunt saber?

Well, I suppose it could be. But looks like there is also a clamp around the mid section.
